Status Updates From Equilibria

Sekadar perbandingan berdasarkan pemerhatian sendiri, novel ini ada elemen:
1) Interstellar
2) The Maze Runner
3) The Silent Sea
4) Battlestar Galactica.
Namun begitu plotnya langsung tidak mirip mana² cerita di atas. Ia ibarat asimilasi pelbagai elemen, yg hasil naratifnya adalah kreativiti penulis sendiri.

Bedilan-bedilan hujah.
Ada beberapa frasa yg kusukai, namun untuk menyenaraikan kesemuanya perlu berpatah balik ke muka surat terdahulu. Tak mengapa, biar dulu. Mungkin sebahagian sudah masuk ke subconscious mind.

Battlestar Galactica.
I'm reminded of the series while reading this, another dystopian-themed story that I coincidentally chose right after 2099 Ilusi Utopia.

Babak yang sedang dibaca ini sekadar menyebut sup tomato panas yang dibumbui kacang buncis sebagai makanan mereka malam itu. Namun ini sahaja pun sudah membuatkan perutku lapar minta diisi pada waktu yang tak sesuai jauh malam ini.

Menyesal keluar daripada Equilibria. Tapi kalau tak keluar, tak jadilah cerita, kan? 🙊🙈

Kaylen finally met his mom. Up to this point could I finally picture Morgan Archer as a woman. That is possibly a unisex name.

I have difficulty picturing Morgan Archer as a woman, because one of the recent K-dramas that I watched has its main character's name as Morgan Park / Park Morgan, a handsome male lead 🙊🙈

After several pages, a number of movies came to my mind. Could be pure coincidence, or they could be the author's source of inspiration. Regardless, I'm happy that a Malaysian author is capable to write a good science fiction like this. She could be the next Isaac Asimov.

Inconsistency note: the spelling of "was-was".

I thot I'd need longer time to reset myself from the withdrawal syndrome, but the moment I read someone else's novel I began to miss my fav author. I'm glad the author is a she.

As I need to adjust with the new reading glasses, I choose this novel since HSKU's books usually use larger font size. Something isn't right when I read "kedutaan-kedutaan dalam" instead of "kedutan-kedutan dalam."

Oh snap!

My elevator pitch for Transgenik Sifar was "SeaQuest DSV meets Superman". I had difficulty coming up with an elevator pitch for Equilibria but so far I have "Hunger Games meets Escape from New York".

Whoa! Did not expect action-packed scenes. Somebody call Snake Plissken!

What a breath of fresh air this was after reading Di Sebalik Dinara. The author warned me that she wasn't immune to the female gaze either but I see no evidence of it so far. You can tell she's a much more mature writer due to her confidence in the language and that she focuses on mature issues even though the characters are youngsters. Enjoying it so far.

Kenapa novel hanya berada ditempat kedua, tiada pemenang pertama dapat difahami usai bacaan dan aku bersetuju.
