Some of the sky fell from my eyes and dropped onto the bathroom floor.

I rubbed my stomach, and then I heard it. Mixed in with the clear orchestral birdsong a baby laughed. It bubbled out across the street then up into the bathroom. “I hear you,” I whispered.

It was the dawn’s invitation.

These people have got to stop making me cry like this

“Don’t you go ruining Lou’s life with all that rubbish, now—the way you did ours.” She shut the door, and I managed to drive around the corner before the tears fell.

Dawn was yellow and frightening. Long lines of thin pale poked down like dad’s fingers when he shouted. Warnings that could not be ignored.

Gave me chills. So evocative

That old grey building became a palace, filled with the liquor of attraction and love.

Everyone knew issues and tissues could be resolved with a helpful pile of paper squares stuck together at the top and a pencil.

What does that even mean?

OMG I loved this. Made me have the ugliest, snottiest cry but whew apparently I needed it.

This story is life. Sweet, melancholy, anxiety-filled, gentle, amazing life. Precious.

Oh god, I can't stop whimpering at the beautiful things in here...

Oh, this is British. Did any of you tell me this was British? It reminds me of a book I read years ago called Mariana by Susanna Kearsley because it sounds somewhat literary/lyrical in places and there's lots of things **unspoken** but **inferred.**
