Cute office romance. Penelope a tiny fireball with encyclopedic knowledge of sports gets hired at magazine. Her rival Cole Sharpe has wanted the job for years and is now her co-editor. He is handsome confident guy but after they are both hired she friend zone's him asap. Well she is not his type anyway so why does this bother him? He like curvy flirty women not tiny tom boy types that probably know more than he does!

He and Monica feel the connection but they live in different parts of the country. Trent's family wants him to come home and he agrees to come in a week or two but another quake hits.

She meets pilot Trent who is flying rescue for doctors/ helping people get out. They have instant chemistry but she is there to work so shuts down any attraction. Trent has been on the island trying to heal from the loss of his parents 2 yrs ago.

Monica sister of Jesse from book one is a nurse. She volunteers to go to Jamaica to help with earthquake relief and is doing her best. They are running out of supplies, the dead are laying in the streets the injured are stacking up at the few medical services available.

This is way steamier than most of this author's book for sure. It it funny with cozy type feel except for the steam.

Thriller mystery with complicated plot and a bit of romance. Takes place mostly in New Orleans and has murders, corrupt cops, greed and suspense. Will the villain cover his tracks by killing everyone in his way? Or will the villain and his partner kill each other? Meanwhile Molly the former military/cop and now P.I. is trying to protect Gabe the chef and his group while solving the mystery.

MC Olivia Bishop is smart and a professor. She is divorced from husband she married as a grad student. He is 15 yrs older and serial cheater but she was young and thought he was smart and sophisticated only to find he is a callous user. He continues to shove his newest young thing in her face at events and tries his best to control her and make her feel like a loser. WHY does she put up with this? Stockholm syndrome?

Kind of lost interest in this one but will keep it on back burner for a week or two. This is a lite rom/com type book and I like the first book of the series but this one not so much.

This is really good mystery/thriller with lots of interesting characters it's just SOOOO LONG! The book is almost 600 pages and the audio is almost 22 hrs. I have speed it up as with the southern accents they talk too slow. I hesitated to start this book but since it was recommended by friends I am buckling down and listening but it will take me a week to get through it. Set mostly in New Orleans.

Okay I have to admit the running gag where Hunter her boss calls her EVERY name except her own is hilarious.

Have not read this is a week or so as it seems kind of boring.

Power crazed villain wants to be mayor, wants to kill his 3rd wife (hey he got away with it before) and a young man who was witness to one of his crimes in the days when he was a thug. That was before his plastic surgery and his cleaned up (on the surface) life of crime. He wines and dines the movers and shakers and has many of the police in his back pocket. Now he thinks chef Gabe needs to go too.

This is getting a lot better thankfully as it is a LONG book. Molly the P.I. is assigned to case to find out who killed Gabe the chef's retired police officer father and set it up to look like suicide. Immediately they are being followed and chapters from the mystery villain give us a glimpse into his power crazy ambitions.

So far not feeling this book. It is kind of gritty and slow with a mystery, murder and introductions to the new characters. It is obvious the corrupt cops are running the show but which ones and what is the secret?

Kind of slow so far and much of the story is kind of repeat of other books by this author. Yes, some funny lines but lots of swearing and the MC Hunter is such an over the top ass. He is ex military and owns a security company but it's a miracle anyone works for him. His court appointed assistant Kylie is a sweetie and NEEDS to complete the 1 yr contract for this job so she puts up with him which is driving her nuts.

Det. Beau and Juliet are nearly killed when the brakes are cut on his classic car. Then Beau gets his wish and is taken off bodyguard duty only to realize that Juliet is really in danger and this is not a babysitting job. Someone wants to get to her in revenge for her family turning a historic home into a hotel.

Juliet Rose Astor Lowell has been raised as a proper lady so Det.Beau figures if he drags her to the seamier side of town she will ask for a new bodyguard and he will be off the hook. Sadly for him she is fascinated with all things she has been sheltered from and on top of that he is starting to find her fascinating, frustrating and kind of attractive!

Hot cranky New Orleans cop can hardly wait till his last sister is on her own. After his parents death he ended up raising 3 sister - 2 are on their own, 1 to go! He has no social life for 10 yrs so can hardly wait. Meanwhile his temp boss has it in for him so assigns him babysitting duty for hotel mogul's daughter who is in town to open their newest hotel.

I read this ages ago and later listened on audio. It's been awhile so wanted a solid comfort read.
