The most unrealistic piece of this whole book is him calling a therapist and getting an appointment booked immediately in a few days with no string of follow up questions. Plus, the first appointment is typically a questionnaire/get to know you conversation before officially starting regular sessions.

Lowkey disappointed because I started the ARC and reached out to the author’s team about the word f*ckt*rd being used on the second page being unnecessary and offensive to some. Her team said it would be removed so I wasn’t going to comment on it. I checked the published copy today and it’s still there.

Honestly, this is one of the first times I really see a crazy stark difference with women writing MM, specifically sex scenes. After reading interviews from queer men I just notice a lot of things that I think not correct or common among gay men. I know little as a woman, but the no prep and other phrases are just not it.

The sheer number of times this character says “ohmigod” is going to drive me up the wall.

There is no way he snuck two doors down while severely injured (with two cracked ribs) to his abuser’s hospital room to tell him off while he was in a coma and snuck back to his room without being caught. No way! Hospitals are busy and I don’t buy it!

I really don’t like that Tru’s mom chose to bring someone into their home who bullies her son. Don’t you want him to feel safe? You’re putting a relationship before your child’s well being? It makes me so angry. And her saying Dare shouldn’t bully him under her roof? How about he should do it AT ALL!

The word rectum does not need to be used in a spicy scene.

What the hell is this formatting? Each chapter says “EVERETT” but then at the end it randomly jumps POVs to the other MC, but it doesn’t have his name. It just changes to italics. Why title the chapters with Everett’s name if you don’t do the same for the other MC. No need to italicize an entire section of the book. Just label it so we know the POV changed. It’s so weird and unnecessary.

To all the people who said this was the best groveling they’ve read? Hard disagree. He’s doing *some* work, but I give bro a C+, B- at best. Noel, make him beg! Make him kiss the ground you walk on. Make him lick your shoe!

I cannot tell you the rage I feel upon discovering a romance book doesn’t have an ‘I love you’ confession in it. What was I waiting for the past 300+ pages?!?

If you don’t introduce the second POV until 58%, I think I’d rather the whole book be single POV.

This was going so well. Why did the author need to include this joke? It’s gross and unnecessary.

It’s weird to me that Thorne asks Leaf if he’s been tested but doesn’t specify that he’s clean himself. He said “it’s my first time” but we find out later he just meant it was his first time with a man. Would you not clarify if you’ve been tested since being with women? Why ask him and not give him the same clarification?

Why are there text messages written with quotations like dialogue? It’s confusing. This book could use an editor.
