I've had this sitting on my TBR for what feels like forever. We shall see if its as good as the review I've seen, said it is.

I hate Amanda. She's annoying and avoidant to the point of stupidity. We can do 'I don't want to be vulnerable' without being nasty and without running away. These books are so 'me me me, I, I ,I' that i cannot jive with these characters. Declan is....ok, but he comes across as a teenager and not a 32 yo man. This started out in a good place, but like the others its all downhill from there.

"Sweetheart, I don't think we're in South Carolina Anymore." Love the spin on a classic line, and in a 'fell into another world' book too. I think I'm already having a better time with this one than book 1 in the series. I will say, that if Alder the Toxic Ex is a contender for our leading lady's HEA, i will riot. That man...just comes across as the worst sort. he doesn't deserve either redemption or her love.

How has nothing happened yet? No seriously. 206 pages in and we are just cycling through hormones. I still don't know these characters, and I'm searching but haven't found the plot yet. Unless shredded pants, abs, and weirdly intense lust are somehow the plot.

I'm just now noticing how long this book is. 538 pages?! So far, its...ummm...spicy to say the least, but I'm wondering how this will fare as a longer book as opposed to a novella. So far I'm not seeing a real plot to make this worth it being a full-length novel.

I get the feeling this might be the most unhinged S.J. Tilly book to date. Can't wait to find out.

I'm hoping I'm not spending the rest of this book with these characters below ground in such a miserable place. Also, I'm not a fan of star-crossed lovers in the first place, and while this is just barely under the line of frustrating, I'm hoping I'm not spending the next 50% with them pining for forever with one another and being denied it all up until the very end.

How is it I'm almost halfway through this book and like...nothing has really happened? Part of the reason I hate Trilogies, that aren't standalones, is because book 1 hooks you, book 2 is a lot of nothing, and book 3 is usually taking too long to just wrap it up. I don't know why I though this one would be any different.

9 year old Teddy is the best character. I love it when children are far wiser than the adults around them.

The Lord Gervaise won 2 kittens in a game of poker and now him and the FMC Caroline, are practically parenting them together. It's the cutest thing ever!

Really hardly anything has happened. Its a lot of talking about nothing. This book isn't nearly as mysterious as it wishes to be. While the FMC is scared of the broody, silent, and angry Damien, i'm over here yelling at her that he's trying to help by warning her. I don't know how she's missing his silent but obvious clues. but ok.

8 years later, I'm doing a reread. I remember loving this book, but also being a tad frustrated that not every puzzle piece was solved. (No sequel to date) The magic is unique, the characters dynamic, and it all centers around a "dragon" choosing the maiden he gets to keep in his tower. It's all refreshing, and it's kind of what I need right now, when all stories are starting to bore me lately.

In all honesty, I'm trying with book 2 but it's a lot of politics and of course...war. lol. Book 1 was different; we were fighting for basic human rights, and for a whole class of people. This just seems...lesser than? Idk. Most of the time I'm just...bored. Like its not bad, but its so heavy with information and this and that, that I'm having a hard time paying attention. We need more light-heartedness.

there are no words. but i feel giddy and sorrowful, and just want the best for my babies. <3 Tisaanah, Max, Sam, and Moth and all the other minor characters that I both love and fear for. Such a long book, and a longer series i'm sure, but i keep hoping they get the best outcome possible.

This is a breath of fresh air. Why did I put this off for so long? Well, at least I can binge all three books now. Seriously, I love the story and the characters. It's exactly what I wanted and didn't even know it. I hope it maintains all the way through.

Yeah, didn't even make it through the sample and decided I couldn't wait to be home with my physical copy to read this. Looks like this story is going to span somewhere around 3 books...so...don't know what I've signed up for but I heard it was epic.

Yeah...Idk about this one. We're already dealing with a very big suspension of belief with a child surviving in the North American wilds on his own and growing into a man, but then everything else on top of it... I went from 'intrigued', to 'that's a lot', to 'this has progressed into pure smut', to 'can we just wrap this up now?'. Supposed to be Tarzan retelling, but its missing the mark for me.

Year 1 of the apocalypse. I don't think I've read a book in this series yet that is so close to the start of 'Day of Impact'. So, it'll be interesting. My favorite thing about Apocalyptic/Post-Apocalyptic stories is literally the downfall and chaos and then learning to survive when society has collapsed and the emotional/physical/mental/environmental impact that takes us on. So I'm hoping for good things here.

I'm having a hard time getting into this. I keep waiting for it to be exciting, but I already dislike golf, so...yeah. I was hoping it was less about the game and more about the romance. It's a lot of golf talk. Bleh.

i'm devouring this. Its real, its funny, its heartwarming. There's a simmering tension between these two, its dialed down right now at like...a 2, but i'm waiting for it to explode to an 11. Not sure if this is the type of story that will do that, but a girl can dream.

Two divorcees, who are friends and slowly grow their relationship into more. I've heard really good things about this book, so I'm hopeful. I actually read the sample a couple days ago but wasn't in the right mood for it. Put it down and picked it up today and decided 'why not? this is better than I thought'. Funny how depending on the day and our state of mind, how we can read things differently.

It's at times confusing when you're dealing with abstract concepts melding with physical manifestations, and there doesn't feel like there is much rhyme or reason. It's fantastical and beautiful and a bit mind boggling.
