I really want to belt all the men in this book. The Doctor came to visit and he's all "why don't you like working around the clock endlessly with no breaks?" and her father who thinks she ought to be grateful to be groped by any man who takes a fancy to her... Nicholas who is all "do as I say" without a shred of actual care...

I don't much like the doctor jeff. he's just as arogant as nicholas in his own way. especially concerning miranda

If her father were a tiny bit less, overbearing Miranda might have had a better mind to heed him and his uncertainties with Nicholas (who already has a tiny red flag waving...)
