Right through the intro I remember what really struck me in this book.

The familiar feeling of the way the world moves, the stereotype of stoicism and its actual ramifications, and the kind of grinning in the face of it all. Man.

Having a great time! There are a lot of YA trappings, but the pov of an autistic girl is really interesting. Sometimes there's a lot more explaining than I personally need and that's not a problem, but sometimes things really hit home and the brewing romance is painfully cute. What a nice read after the blood and ash of the last one.

How is there another HALF of this book? I'm having a lot of fun but ALSO what's gonna happen for 50% of the book??

This was a rec from Jenny and so I knew it'd hit, but man. Angry adolescent (lesbian?) girls with sympathetic, righteous fire magic?? yeah, man...

First time I've listened to an audiobook at 1.0x speed in awhile, but I could NOT take it in at 2.0x. The Gibsonian flair was just kind of rushing past too fast to grasp. Which makes me wonder if maybe I'm doing a disservice to 2.0x books and their descriptions, but... I kinda don't think so. Will remember this lesson tho if it comes up again.
