I swear he's called her honey like 10x in the last 2 chapters. it's thrown off his tone + feels like it's forced w/how often it was shoved down my eyeballs. also idk how these two adults are still coming across as so juvenile to me lol lifetime film w/b rated actors lol

Appreciating the pain showcased with the realities of workin a ranch. That shit is HARD on you. Still think the romance is cheesy af but sure is easy to read.

I will say main dude's POV has moments that give me the ick, like when he sees a "flicker of intelligence" (p. 116) in her eyes or is shocked she's being thoughtful (p.127). I feel like sometimes he's such a hater outta nowhere???

i've entered the vibe of just wanting to finish this tbh. Not bad but def not a standout. some retorts and jibes are a bit overdone. invested enough that i don't want to dnf

It's ok, unless something major happens by the end of the book I don't foresee myself finishing the series. Read too many narratives that are similar to dis (& better executed tbh), likely would've enjoyed it more if I read this yrs ago.

Feeling like I'm in the mood for forced proximity, small town romance, and general cheesiness whenever I'm on a break from Kings of the Wyld - I think Cash is gunna hit that sweet spot for me (plus I haven't read a western in a hawt minute)

Took a minute for it to pick up for me but I'm decently invested now; can def tell the author is a white man tho lol - the writing style and the way the characters interact with one another gives off that vibe iykyk

FMC is a bit obnoxious, there's so much repetition + back & forth in her internal monologue i.e. 'he's my enemy, no I care for him, but wait no I hate him, but maybe I love him? No but actually he's the devil' ಥ_ಥ

Also, they mention the word immortal A LOT, as well as God of War. Do not make it a drinking game - you'll die

Again, feels like I've read this story already, which is so common for me with YA novels *sigh* Kinda reminding me Gods of Jade and Shadow by SMG and I LOVED that book. I'm in danger of comparison reading
