Authentic and thoughtprovoking so far; really into how her mind connects dots.

Don't think I've ever read anything like this. Unique perspective and style.

So nerdy! And foody! And exacting! My omelette game has become pretty serious because of this book. And I like his tone.

Interesting, but also very UK-specific and a little dry.

Starting to feel an emotional click after nearly two hundred very well written prose... Which primarily reminded me of other books I've read about Virginia / Appalachia / Orphans / Hard living. Curious to see where this goes now.

Just spent an hour immersed in this. Wow.

This is a dangerous book: gorgeous, high-level visual storytelling that sucks you in. Thing is, the subject matter (and the feelings reading this give me) are so very lonely and bleak!

Blockbuster-y fairytale biznizz with some great lines. Cloud Atlas X Pixar? I'm enjoying it.

In two weeks it'll be a year since I put this down to 'take a small break'. Time to pick it up again, methinks.

This has taken a turn for the worse, or worst, and is now a series of panicky from-the-cockpit-conversations reminiscent of bad blockbuster movies ("I don't think I can hold on much longer!", "Oh my god, another rocket - incoming!", et cetera), but damnit if I'm not gonna finish this trilogy!

I used to read a lot of McEwan's work, but stopped after On Chesil Beach in 2007. One title too many? The subject matter of his books taking a direction away from my interests (or the other way around)? I don't remember.

When visiting my parents over Christmas me and my dad talked books, exchanging the physical piles of books built up over a few months. With a copy of 'Lessons' on top. It's really good so far.

Travelling from Switzerland back to Austria; gonna take a breather when I pass a small station and re-board in the future.

What a unique and authentic book. I'm going to miss reading this once I reach the end!

Spaced on adding this to my CR-list. Great so far! A bit bumpy due to the fact that it's a collection of shorter work on a wide range of subjects, but a satisfying overview of the writer's passion and interests at the same time.
