i’m torn between feeling like this book is so captivating but also soo terribly thought out. i love the premise, there is a slow burn & character building. but DAMN this girl is annoying! “i can’t help but feel like someone is watching me ..”say Simone, as she hoards the random roses she’s found in her house. 🙄 this book is making me want the tag “dumb FMC”

dark but funny so far

something i never understood was why they always say, “he swallowed & i watched his throat bob.” Or, “he took a gulp and his throat worked.” i’m not sure what emotion is connected with the act of swallowing or why it is seen as attractive or enticing?

don’t love these flashbacks that don’t make a lot of sense yet. but this book is an overall improvement from Sweetheart

I am giving this book a try even after DNFing Sweetheart, by the same author.

So far, barely 5 pages in, & it’s very similar to Sweetheart 😬

this novella is not written very well … like at all. but when a book is only 100 pages it’s hard to want to DNF it. even though i know i could be reading better books.

the amount of times she mentions that she is “betrothed” is excessive … but overall this is a great book!!
the audio is done in a duet & 😮‍💨 his voice is 👌🏾

the truth has come out & there is legitimate reason for outrage.
sometimes characters become so upset about the most petty shit or they act like a child because their hurt feelings can’t see the logic of the situation.

i hate that everything is a series … i want more really good stand alone books
