There was a whole lot of info on mmc being captain and trying to save his team members from being trading which I felt was unnecessary and just over done. The story about his friend dying and his survivors guilt was good however and I loved to see the mcs relationship grow by supporting one another. The FMC yips storyline felt a bit uneven. Him hiring the teams experts and them actually having time or card to work

I went back and forth on this book. On one hand this had a trope I liked pining golden retriever mmc and black cat FMC but it was all over the place at times. FMC was a foster kid who was ignored by her guardians her foster brother went back to his family so she felt abandoned and refused to make deeper connections. Mmc was a fboy who changed his ways because he crushed heavy on FMC
