I’m more concerned about paving the way for inventions that actually address a problem plaguing humanity, not AI. There are so many more issues we have to solve that would directly affect people in a positive way than keeping AI development in the US. Maybe I’m just an AI hater through and through though.

I’m agreeing with most of this so far but I’m struggling to see how improving AI helps us advance as a society. It’s been proven that generative AI worsens our critical thinking and creativity, so how could we possibly create a society where we build and create, not consume, if we’re dependent on it?
