Oh my word, the fear is real in that final chapter of book 1 of the Fellowship! In the movie adaptation, I don’t think the Elf was Glorfindel that met them at this point though, wasn’t Legolas introduced instead? 🤔

Up next - ‘Many Meetings’. But first, more coffee, and perhaps some hot, buttered toast 😋

“I am Aragorn son of Arathorn; and if by life or death I can save you, I will”.

‘Strider’ is one of my favourite chapters! 😭

This is my first time reading TLOTR as one volume. I’ve read the trilogy as three volumes twice before and it is safe to say it is the greatest story ever told.

1077 pages. My January reading is sorted! Let’s do this! ⚔️

Kirsty Nice!

It really is! It feels a little different reading it as one big book! I found this 1979 HB edition for just £1 in a charity shop last year, so I saved it for new year 😃

Liz My copy has that cover! The book is so old, many of the pages are loose.😥

Surprisingly, this one’s in quite good nick! A bit yellowy-brown on the edges and the dust jacket is a little tatty, but all the pages are fixed fast. I was delighted when I found it! 🤩
