I’m sad to announce my first flop from this book: Olive Oil Sugar Cookies with Blood Orange Glaze. They sound interesting, but the dough came together very crumbly and the taste was odd and the icing was pretty but didn’t redeem the cookie. Luckily nobody’s favorite cookie is an olive oil sugar cookie, so I will survive without this recipe. On to the next!

Easter Weekend was the perfect opportunity to make Turtle Brownies and Peanut Butter Crunch Brownies. P declared that the Peanut Butter Crunch brownies were “his favorite brownies” just by looking at the picture. Same.

The recipe requires making chocolate ganache, which I learned sounds fussy and fancy but was actually spectacularly simple to make.

Still no misses. Raspberry ripple ice cream sandwiches on sugar cookies? Delightful. Cakey brownies? Somehow, amazing. Lemon sugar cookies?? A dream.

Also, my oven is broken. I baked cookies 4 at a time in my little air fryer / toaster oven. That is my level of commitment to this book, please applaud my dedication, thank you.

P helped me make Chocolate Sugar Cookies for Aunt KK’s wedding shower tomorrow 😋😋😋 He got to save a few for himself and rolled them in sprinkles. Sometimes I’m a cool mom !

P and I made the pan-banging Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe today and they are MASSIVE. Very delicious and a fun new technique!

This is kind of a boring cookie but I also ate uhhhh more than 2 before they were completely cooled 🫣 so delicious - they made a great housewarming present for some friends!

Might be ambitious but my goal is to knock out 3 (maybe 4 👀) recipes this week, for various events. Will report back, obviously 🫡
