I get the point of having no motive for how the teens were treating the Thin Kid as part of the horror. But I don’t understand Valentina as a character. She’s so cruel to the person behind Thin Kid for no reason and it’s annoying me to the point of questioning the whole point of the story because I’m almost halfway there and there’s really no plot to this yet.

Honestly, I’m finding it difficult to connect or immerse myself in the story. I’m not sure if it’s because my head is still on the Sun Eater series, but I am not as invested in the book at the moment. I’m just waiting for something interesting to happen to see how I feel further about this.
