Thomas put his hands on his hips and walked in a slow circle, his head down.
“My heart lies,” he said.
“Something lies to you, but it’s not your heart.”

captivated from the first page. as soon as the angels were mentioned i knew immediately that this was going to be a wonderful read. also, thomas just fully aurafarming was a nice introduction to the novel. i really enjoy the “swordplay”(?) style of dialogue and the grim, grotesque, barely holy setting.
