China is a phenomenal writer, and I am very hooked by the mystery here, but I need this to pick up a bit because these past 100 pages or so have felt very slow and over-indulgent. I'm only 1/3 of the way through, so I'm sure it'll get there, but it's starting to crawl now.

I wish I could be giving this more time, because I am adoring it, but it's really dense, heavy and progress feels slow when having to juggle so many other books.
