Now Elvar and her forces have retreated into the halls with the stone wolves and skuld menacing the advancing trolls as others retreat before retreating themselves. Now the few trolls hyrundr and frost spiders that made it into the halls are cleaned up by Elvars warriors and ulfrir when grend asks if they can keep one of the frost spiders alive after one makes it to hrung and bites him

Varg and Orka spot brak and drekr in the back lines of the attackers as frost spiders trolls and hyrundr fall upon them. Now elvars war host orders the retreat of the shield wall back into the main halls doors while as the front lines cover those retreating. The ulfrir tainted and berserkir carve open a line in the frost spiders causing a lull where warriors can retreat before they are set upon by the hyrundr

Varg fights many waves of lik rifas war host hoping to come across brak with Orka behind him chopping at any that show an opening. With the spertus climbing the embankment spitting their black poison everywhere and now the trolls and tennur joining in the defensive line at the embankment has fallen while drengrs still clamber over the walls on ladders. Gudvarr looks on at the battle terrified as vaesen and drengr move on under the hail of spears boulders and arrows just to climb the walls and be stabbed. While waiting he sees rotta biorr and others moving into the forest presumably attempting to flank the wolf dales and assassinate Elvar. Now Gudvarr makes ready to cross on rafts with sigruns drengrs while spertus fill the river

The siege of the wolfdales has begun with rotta ilska and drekr offering them their lives if they give up ulfrir before being refused and then promising them death. Now many ladders are put against the main gates with warriors pouring up them while others cross the river on rafts and climb up other embankments.
