Doing my first-ever full-series reread. It's been...years since I've actually read WOK, though I still have a pretty encyclopedic knowledge of its major events. What I'd forgotten: the incredible satisfaction of each incremental step as Kaladin wins the trust of Bridge 4. There's something about his persistence against the odds that warms my heart, just as it brings the bridgemen to trust him.

'4500 years later' just tosses that number out like it's nothing. augh the scale of this series is incredible and I will never get over it. 4500 years later. 4500.

I couldn't get behind Kelsier's hatred of the nobility, but I understand why Kaladin loathes lighteyes now. And they deserve it. Assholes.

Poor Shallan. Your life really sucks now, doesn't it? IRONY.

Note to self: Princess Bride reference in review.

I was so worried that Kal was going to be another Kelsier, but he isn't - he differs on one very very very crucial point.

I adore this book.
