yes, the epilogue was cute! 😏 maybe a bit out of character but still....

I felt this way exactly. I expected the book to be better. I mean it’s still AH and I’ll read her grocery lists so I guess I can’t complain too much.

I liked Castien's character progression actually. It was my fave part 🙈 Seyn I mean Eridan just felt like Generic Brat #2, but it was still an overall entertaining dynamic.

SAME. The POVs were a mess too, I was not happy about that at all. Plus I was just kinda disappointed since this was my most hyped book of the series.

I think it might come down to the romance? I wasn't the biggest fan of the actual book structure but Seyn/Ksar is my fave couple from the series 🥰

I honestly wasn't bothered by the back and forth! I think it made sense since Castien was so emotionally stunted. But your gif usage is on point 😂 that's the whole book summed up.

You got that right lol, their last scene together was... honestly amazing 🥰 I wasn't convinced by Warrehn at first, but I heard he will be paired with the imposter heir (the one who was supposed to inherit his throne), so that could be very interesting if true.

So much drama indeed! Hopefully the other MC is a compelling one too 🤞 And yes, I love the series! It isn't masterful storytelling exactly, but I love how the author does obsessive and codependent couples... since you know I enjoy those kind of toxic dynamics lol. My faves from there are Just a Bit Unhealthy and Just a Bit Confusing! Have you given the series a go yourself, Ayanna?

What even was the point of it then? I'd rather have had those pages spent on more communication between the two, seeing as Castien barely ever spoke (hide spoiler)] but I'm so relieved that you still somewhat enjoyed this!

I get it! I do thing that if you liked the Calluvia series, there's a strong chance you will find some of the books in Straight Guys at least enjoyable 😂 book 6 is actually not a favorite of mine either 🙈 even though a lot of people loved it! For me it was a travesty that Luke apparently had a daddy kink yet the word daddy was used about 7 times in the whole story 😅 I felt cheated! Really excited to hear what you think if you give it another go though.

What you mentioned about the ending IS SO RIGHT THO. I hated that lots 😅 I did like Castien's character development there but that plot line should've stayed firmly in the drafts and that is that on that.

Also, Ksar was simply born with his abilities while Castien actually worked to build his powers so Castien is clearly the badass here 💅🏽 (hide spoiler)]

Exactly!! I think there were so many other ways that character development could have been shown though and AH chose the most annoying one

I do like Castien, but... (view spoiler)[considering everyone kept mentioned how skilled he was and disciplined, it would've been nice to witness him using any of those powers beyond erasing Eridan's mind or giving him telephatic therapy that one time. In contrast, Ksar and all of his "raw power" were more badass and had a lot of use in his own book and every other installment in the series.

Considering how the high hronthar (not even pretending I spelled that right) was advertised in every book as a conniving and manipulative puppet master, for me it ended up feeling as merely telling and never showing. Castien was interesting as a complex individual and I liked his struggles with emotions. But as a badass telepath he was a bit of a flop. (hide spoiler)]

Yepp! I didn't really vibe with it because I wanted the russian mob boss to be more "ruthless" like the title suggests. I never got those vibes so I was 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ about it.
