Don't mind me, I'm over here re-reading this to see if I start to actually enjoy it. If I don't, I'm finally gonna write that rant about just how much I loathe Eridan's whiny, incompetent ass 😘

me: let me do a re-read of this book I didn't enjoy in the first place! what's the worst that can happen?
the worst that can happen: *happens*
(It's not even that bad but the space politics and the most infuriating MC ever certainly didn't help 🤡 soooo...incoming rant it is)

Finished this yesterday. It dragged for what felt like eight whole decades by the midway point, but hey... at least the epilogue was cute? And Castien won me over despite or because of his extreme jerk-ish ways.
Eridan just felt like a second-rate Seyn though
🥴

Candy, I know I should say, "Hope it works for you this time but I hated this one so much that I am kinda rooting for the rant.🤣🤣🤣
@Preeti, a pal after my own heart. I swear I only saw positive reviews before going I so I was SHOCKED. Eridan is already getting on my nerves again tho 😭
@Jenn, I'm glad to hear you had a good time!! I'm giving it a second chance for that reason, since people usually enjoy her books more upon a re-read. Can't say it will be the case... but at least I'm trying! And thanks for the compliment 😋
Candy wrote: "@Jenn, he will forever one of my favorite AH MCs 😌"(I love him, too -- he's so fabulously sassy!)
@Julia, I'm already half into it and my opinions all remain the same. To the people that say Eridan is the best MC in the series... I wanna have a quick word.
Rereading something that you didn't like just to make sure you really didn't like it and to gather the necessary evidence for your rant? Respect!
@Ann, everyone always tells me how this author's work tends to be more enjoyable after a re-read sooo... I guess I'm just an outlier 🥴
Hey, that is me on plenty of stories my GR friends have enjoyed. Its like that sometimes. Tbh, I enjoy reading well thought out negative reviews/rants on stories that I like. They often point out things I hadn't noticed myself. I haven't read this series yet but I'm eager to read your thoughts. 🤩
I look forward to a good roasting (I'm actually planning on writing one on a H that's lighting my fury on fire atm lol), so feel free to unleash my friend 😁😇...I do hope that you at least draw out some of the good stuff from this re-read though <3
@Ann, I'm the same way!! Plus it can make me notice things I completely overlooked while being too busy fangirling. It be like that sometimes ✋
@Shal, your roasts are the classiest roasts ever, I swear 🤣 So I look forward to it! The re-read didn't really go over well... but 2022 is the year where I'm comitting myself to second chances. Is this destructive behavior? Very likely 🤕

That's a shame, but even so, I'm looking forward to your perfectly amusing roasts - you really do have a way with words. And if you're dedicating this fresh start to second chances, you're better woman than I and I'm committed to seeing how far those chances get...I have your back if you self-destruct 🥰
@Shal, I'm sure it won't be too hard to accomplish! Your reviews either make me want to read a book or delete it from my memory completely 🤣 no middle ground. And thank you too! We can bond over our questionable reading choices. Trauma always brings people together after all 😙

Awww so kind, thank you dandy Candy, I didn't realise my written insights held such power, I'll be sure to keep that in mind both when I roast and boast ☺️ I'm going to hop on have a read through of your review for this now 👀
