Just started this and I'm already having a great time. Using fisting as a medical treatment for trauma? 👌🤛 Sounds legit!

(I'm frankly shocked at myself for managing to last so long before picking this up)

Me: No way I'm reading the sequels. I don't want to experience those levels of emotional turmoil. Nossir.
Me currently, after finishing the book: 🤡 never say never, dumbass 🤡

But damn, what a way to end a book. If I don't reply, assume I'm still hugging myself in a corner, crying histerically. Either that or downloading the rest of the series.

I have 30 pages left and I'm officially taking a break. I refuse to finish this just yet. The book hangover might just kill me once I'm done 💀

Or the angst this story is currently subjecting me to. Either cause sounds feasible enough.

Can I take a few days long break if I don't want a book to end? Asking for myself a friend. Who might or might not be crying.

(And no, these are not tears. My eyes are just sweating 🙄)

Dan: *probably spends half a day carefully selecting gifts for Vadim that are meaningful and show he cares*
Also Dan: anyway, I am only using him for sex.

You aren't fooling anyone, Dan.

Everyone underestimates my ability to stretch series out 🤣 Specially because I still think I'll consider this a standalone, so I'm kinda dreading reaching the ending.

Did you read the rest of the series, N?

It took me forever to get to this one, so you're never too late 🤣 It's totally worth it, though. I just wanted to delay the end!

This is the Director's Cut edition! So there's Volume 1 and Volume 2. So all in all, it's still about 800-900 pages lol. I just took a break between volumes to delay finishing it 🤧

I'm bias so I recommend to read the Director's Cut edition: which is Special Forces: Soldiers Part I -Director's Cut and the one I'm reading now. Then you can jump into Special Forces - Mercenaries Part I - Director's Cut and Special Forces - Mercenaries Part II. Finishing with Special Forces - Veterans. For now, I'm only planning to read the last part of Soldiers (this one), since it ends in a HFN and I don't like what I've been told of the sequels.

Rielle Lol the fisting. Thank you for reminding me of this! I’m so glad I read part one and two as one book. Not sure I could have read the rest after where part one left off. Good luck!

Debra ~~ seriously slacking on her reviews ~~ These books!!! I read them so long ago yet remember them so well - Enjoy!

I have so many unfinished reviews... it's a problem 😂 I'm way too caught up reading to edit them. But seriously, this entire book is filled with swoon worthy moments like that one 😙 I'm seriously enjoying it at the moment! And thank you for the kind words. Hopefully your next reads are excellent, particularly after that last one star 💀

I kind of liked the ending of part one (chapter 11), sudden bdsm couple popping up and all. And then the scene at the cave... 👀 totally worth it once I picked up Volume Two. Have you read anymore of the series yourself, Rielle?

I get what you're saying! I read part one months ago and remember everything beat for beat. I can see that being the case years from here. It just stays with you 🖤

and my opinion stays the same - the sequels are completely worth all the pain and suffering. you only get to see 9 years of their lives with Soldiers, while if you finish the whole series - you get 17 extra years. they just go through SO much shit both together and separately... i still remember sobbing my eyes out when i finished the whole series for the first time.
BUT if you think hating an mc could potentially ruin the whole series for you - it complicates things for sure, since i'm 99% sure you'd hate Dan in the sequels at times🤣

and i totally get you on forgiving (view spoiler) lmao i swear my logic is all weird with romance books too.

seems like we've been writing these long ass comments to each other for days now🤣

I need some of that dedication myself. So if you ever find it in abundance, please pass some of it over my way! Will be greatly appreciated 🤣 And maybe you could try an author you've loved recently and were meaning to read more of? That could have the potential to put you in a much better mood. That's what I decided to do just now, at least 😌

I'm okay with the extensive comments where you save me the potential book headaches, or at least warn me from all the impending emotional injuries beforehand. All I'm zero-ing on from your comment, however, is the "you will hate Dan at times", knowing how bitter I am, at least when it comes to that particular topic, do you think I would manage to get over it? I don't wanna rage quit when I'm loving book one so much 😭 Writing a negative review would destroy me.

Plus, as long as most of the suffering is not due to that particular topic, I'm more than okay with potential (view spoiler)

juli✨ @Candy Bwhahahaha, stop, i can't 😂😂 I guess using smelling salts (or water) are too tame a method. Gotta shove a whole ass 👊 up there. Works like a charm every single time.

I will make sure never to faint again in my life! Or I'll at least make sure my doctor hasn't read the book, just in case. I recommend the same course of action, Julia.

honestly, it's REALLY hard to say. knowing just how pissed off i was at Dan sometimes, i can't confidently proclaim that you won't rage quit. reading a negative review from you on this series would absolutely break my heart.🤣 (view spoiler)

Goddamn it! But I guess I can always try reading Mercenaries, and if it goes awry, then I'll ask someone to whack me in the head to erase all memories. Yes, that sounds like a great plan. Thank you for preparing me though, at least now I'll know not to expect it to get resolved until the very end (view spoiler) Can "do it for Vadim" qualify as enough of a reason? 😅

girl if you start reading Mercenaries and somehow manage to pull yourself away from it - i'll applaud you lmao, because the plot is WILD. 🤣 and yes, that qualifies as enough of a reason in my eyes🤣
