Me: No way I'm reading the sequels. I don't want to experience those levels of emotional turmoil. Nossir.
Me currently, after finishing the book: 🤡 never say never, dumbass 🤡

But damn, what a way to end a book. If I don't reply, assume I'm still hugging myself in a corner, crying histerically. Either that or downloading the rest of the series.

I have 30 pages left and I'm officially taking a break. I refuse to finish this just yet. The book hangover might just kill me once I'm done 💀

Or the angst this story is currently subjecting me to. Either cause sounds feasible enough.

Can I take a few days long break if I don't want a book to end? Asking for myself a friend. Who might or might not be crying.

(And no, these are not tears. My eyes are just sweating 🙄)

Dan: *probably spends half a day carefully selecting gifts for Vadim that are meaningful and show he cares*
Also Dan: anyway, I am only using him for sex.

You aren't fooling anyone, Dan.

Just started this and I'm already having a great time. Using fisting as a medical treatment for trauma? 👌🤛 Sounds legit!

(I'm frankly shocked at myself for managing to last so long before picking this up)

Demon Now I am scared to start this series 😭

Rebecca So happy you found a series to make you weep, for good reasons for a change! Sending you biggest hugs while you cry and download the sequels 🤗

message 3: by Nelly S. (new)

Nelly S. Um that sounds majorly intense, like need to recharge your emotional batteries afterwards type of intense. But glad you enjoyed (if that's the right word!) it.

It was worth EVERY tear, D. One of (if not my) favorite book of 2021 for sure.

I KNOW. I'm shocked to my very core! And still a bit teary-eyed. But I'll welcome the (virtual) emotional support. Now I just need to decide how much worse I should make my suffering... *stares at These Vile Secrets in the distance*

It was an experience. I actually loved it! With all the pain, happiness, pain, hopefulness, pain, laughter, and so on. I don't think my next few books will fare well after this one. Book hangover will be a bitch.

Debra ~~ seriously slacking on her reviews ~~ Definitely just go download the rest of it now. You need the full experience! These books are tough to follow!

nana Hello Candy! This looks great because I looove angst, if you also do I understand this was a great time you had there 👁 I'm saving this series for when I'm up to the darkest stuff; will you review it?

I'm anxious about the sequels, but I doubt I'll be able to resist them now!! I'm already crying preemptively just in case 😭

I don't binge series but I'm for sure reading the rest. Not sure I will enjoy them if I'm honest (spoilers that start with j and end with ean), but I have to find out how their story continues.

Hello, Nana 🖤 I reviewed the first volume: Special Forces: Soldiers Part I -Director's Cut! This is the second volume and I have to organize my notes. Which I have 4k words of... so yah, don't know when I will finish, but hopefully I do. Saying it's angsty would be an understatement! It's so many things more. My fave book of the year so far, and I doubt anything will top it.

This is volume two of the same story! It's definitely heavy and VERY dark, but that's what made me love it too. The true enemies to lovers standard.

Vaishali • [V.L. Book Reviews] I've come to believe that if it makes us weep, it's come to own us 😂...I hope you enjoy being owned dandy Candy. This sounds incredibly intense, you must be true trooper to have made your way through it and I can just imagine the wind-like call from the sequels chanting your name 😭

Unless those tears are ones born out of outrage, which has been the case several times for me with my most loathed reads, I fully agree! But then again, you could make a case of that meaning the book owned me... in all the wrong ways. As for the rest of the series, I'm equal parts excited and dreading it! A sign of greatness perhaps.

But one, that I hope, ultimately works in your favour 😉❤

Ariana (mostly offline) Omg. Crying hysterically at the END 😱 . I DO hope it's not out of terror or sadness? Please say "no" 😅 I have been planning to read this at one point and I know book 2 is tough, but I'd have hoped that by the end I might just not need the hankies.....😘
