I initially enjoyed the story, but the last 50 pages felt like filler. The characters seem aimless, moving from place to place without a clear in-story explanation why, because it doesn’t seem to matter. I'm puzzled about their motivations. There's a significant event, but the narrative lacks insight into the world's response. The main characters aren't engaging with the situation in an interesting way.
