| I couldn't honestly describe this as a page turner, it's slowed down by lengthy dialogue yet I still enjoyed it but found myself wishing I could finish it sooner than I did. That being said, I will be reading Mitchell again. I'd never heard of her be ...more | |

| Oh I absolutely loved this - nothing outlandish just an art student trying to get by and ending up working in her local restaurant and reporting on the shenanigans of the staff and some customers. It would make a great Netflix series! I miss reading ...more | |

| This was utterly glorious, the result of six years work. I'd never heard of the author until an illustrator friend mentioned she was reading a graphic biography about the Mitford sisters. Years ago, I read and enjoyed the Mary S Lovell biography but ...more | |

| A beautiful meditation on what it is to make art. Beautifully articulated and ever so gentle in its approach. | |

HOpe I'm doing this right, it's my first message on goodreads. I've never read him as I just don't do horror/terror;), and had stupidly put of On Writing for years, even after hearing how good it was, and I must say i thoroughly enjoyed it. I'd read it again and again,I think. And I might even try some of his earlier stuff too, under supervision!! Happy Easter!
Can't say I was ever a great fan of Stephen King, but I loved 'Misery' - it made me laugh out loud, especially the bits about the typewriter falling to bits. (I once had a typewriter that did the same to me after millions of words!) And 'On Writing' was just genius. Still think of it - wish I still had the book. (Probably lent it to someone and never got it back!)
