Service Over Selfies (The Sonnet) | High Voltage Habib
Awake, Arise O Timelords,
Oh makers and breakers of destiny!
Give this world accountability,
And time will give you immortality.
I don’t want your shallow follows,
I do not want your fancy likes.
Reach out as friend to someone in need,
That’ll be my life’s greatest prize.
Social media stats are no sign of character,
Fan following is no measure of a being.
Service over selfies, that is the motto,
Helping over hogging, that is living.
Life begins with the end of self-obsession,
Life self-obsessed is nothing but excretion.

Disparity, Education and Economy | Handbook of Hatebusting
Every dollar spent on luxury is a dollar of disparity. Citizens of earth could force big tech to pay their employees fair wages tomorrow, if they just stop buying their fancy, overpriced products and go for humbler alternatives unless the companies bring down their disparities in salary.
The CEO may enjoy certain benefits of their position, but not until those working at the bottom can afford the fundamentals of life for their family. I’ll say it to you plainly. An employee wronged is a company wronged.
You see, trying to build a disparity-free economy pursuing revenue is like trying to achieve pregnancy through vasectomy. So long as greed drives the economy, it’s not economy, but catastrophe. So long as greed drives the industries, it’s not industrialization, it is vandalization.
Ambition to climb the ladder of status so that you could be on the affluent side of disparity, is no ambition of a civilized human, it’s the ambition of a caveman. So, before you pursue an ambition in life, educate yourself on a civilized definition of ambition.
Yet the situation in our world is so pathetic that that’s exactly the kind of ambition educational institutes sell. Schools and universities don’t teach you to build a civilized society free from disparity, they teach you clever tactics to be on the affluent side of disparity. This is not education, this is castration.
Concern for the society should be the bedrock of education – collective welfare should be the bedrock of economy – if not, we might as well start living as hobos on the streets, because with greed as the driving principle of education and economy, sooner or later all of us will end up on the streets.

Reject less, repair more | The Peace Testament
With superior sentience, come superior screw-ups. And this holds particularly true for industrialization. Even if we put aside carbon emission, in the year 2020 alone humankind has produced over 2 billion tonnes of trash, which is expected to rise over 70% by the year 2050.
Thus, in the name of progress we the gadget-mad gargoyles keep acting as the true eco-terrorists of the glorious dumping ground, called the planet earth. 2% of all our waste is e-waste. And the alarming bit here is that, that 2% e-waste comprises over 70% of our overall toxic waste.
So, what can you do, you ask? Simple – reject less, repair more. Try to make things last as long as possible, or pass them on to those who have need for them. Don’t let things go to waste, just because you can afford new ones.
For example, my kid cousin’s laptop has been acting up for some time now. But instead of buying them a new pc, I ordered the replacement for the faulty part and repaired the laptop myself. This way, we not only reduce our e-waste footprint on the planet, but in the process, we teach kids to value things.
The point is, whether you do it yourself or get it done by a professional, by practicing repair, you are actively participating in the making of a greener, cleaner and healthier world.
It’s not enough to be just a consumer, you gotta be a conscious consumer, otherwise there is no difference between a consumer and a slave. That is why, right-to-repair is not only a human rights issue, it is also an environmental issue. Repairing and recycling are the bedrock of sustainability. So I say again – reject less, repair more.

Luxury is Violation of Human Rights | Corazon Calamidad
A world that confuses luxury with success, has absolutely zero understanding of the human condition. That’s why they idolize rich and filthy celebrities with private jets and rolls royce, as some sort of demigods. If this is your idea of success, then you guys are more disgustingly primitive than the wildlife in the amazon. At least, wild animals don’t pretend to be civilized.
A CEO shouldn’t get several hundred times the salary that the janitor is paid. An athlete shouldn’t get several hundred times the salary that the waterboy is paid. A filmstar shouldn’t get several hundred times the salary that the crew at the bottom are paid.
I understand if you are not yet civilized enough to flatten the field completely – for you are an infantile species after all. But at the very least, do your best to reduce the gap – that is, if you intend to be human someday.
The glory may differ based on the kind of work a person does, but nobody should suffer to make ends meet while others fly in private jets. Economic growth doesn’t mean the growth of disparity, it means the end of disparity. And we can never end disparity from our society unless we cut off all ties with luxury, preferably by individual accountability, if not, then by means of policy.
Riches maketh filth, filth pursue riches. To live a life of luxury, or to dream of a life of luxury, doesn’t make us ambitious, it only exposes the moron that we are. A species that has not realized simplicity as the way of life, will never in a million years have a society without disease and disparity.
I won’t mince my words, and tell you straight. Wanna be a decent human being? Stay away from luxury. Because luxury is a violation of human rights, human health, and above all, human character.
It’s funny really! Some people can’t afford two wholesome meals a day, while others live with a private airport in their backyard. Some parents work their butt off to keep the clothes on their children’s back, while others shower their kids with lamborghinis and teslas. If this doesn’t open your eyes, perhaps you should try lobotomy. I’m sure you can find some unlicensed surgeon somewhere who’d do it for you if you offer them a trip to the bahamas, or better yet, a trip to space in your own spaceship.

Simple, Sonnet / Basit, Şiir | Rowdy Scientist
“Simple, Sonnet
Serenity is born of simplicity,
Insecurity is born of clutter.
Patience empowers perseverance,
Selfishness brings down disaster.
But what’s a life without difficulty,
Difficulty delivers durability.
Don’t be ashamed of darkness in life,
It’s in darkness we shine most brightly.
There’s nothing shameful about fear,
It’s a problem when the reason is baseless.
Trouble of privilege is trouble of lies,
Reject all privilege and rush to the helpless.
It is human nature to shed tears when in agony,
Taking pain to wipe another’s tears is humanity.”
“Basit, Şiir
Barış doğar basitlikten,
Korku karmaşıklıktan.
Sükunet doğar sabırdan,
Belalar bencillikten.
Ama dertsiz hayat nasil hayat,
Zorluk bize cesaret getirir.
Karanlık hiç de ayıp değil,
Karanlık bize parlamayı öğretir.
İnsan korkmazsa kim korkacak –
Sebebi doğruysa korkmak ayıp değil.
Servetin derdi yalan derdidir,
Dünyada gerçek dertler eksik değil.
Dertte olduğunda herkes gözyaşı dökmeyi bilir,
Ama başkasının gözyaşını silmek için
derdine katlanmak, çok azı bilir.”

Declutter Sonnet | Abhijit Naskar | Insan Himalayanoğlu
Declutter is the sensible way forward,
So I moved from Windows to Chrome OS.
Less cluttered in mind and machine,
More you shall find the peaceful pace.
Note that I didn’t make a mention of iOS,
even though it bears an element of declutter.
Declutter monetized at a ridiculous price tag,
is worse than the most cockeyed clutter.
Declutter and Undisparity, these are
the lifeblood of sustainability.
And there can be no sustainability,
so long as there are vanity and luxury.
Intoxicated by the clutter of luxury,
World chases happiness with no avail.
Health and happiness will come chasing,
Once you learn to live humble and simple.

Consciousness Contains The Cosmos | Abhijit Naskar | Insan Himalayanoğlu
When you are humble and simple, the entire world knocks on your door to bask in your light. But when you are too full of yourself, one after another you’ll keep losing life’s most priceless treasures – those that really matter.
अहं ब्रह्माण्डस्मि।
意識は宇宙です。
의식은 우주다.
Eres conciencia, eres el cosmos.
Gönül görmezse göz de görmez.
To put all this plainly – consciousness contains the cosmos. Once you feel this in your heart, all the answers, all the solutions, all the light will boldly pour out of your nerves and veins like monsoon rain.
But one thing you must remember –
what the heart doesn’t feel,
the eyes cannot see.
And there is no greater obstacle
to vision than rigidity.

Life and Abundance (The Sonnet) | Abhijit Naskar | World War Human: 100 New Earthling Sonnets
A person to take refuge in,
a purpose to be driven by,
that’s all you need
to lead a good life.
A roof to take shelter under,
couple meals to feed our hunger,
that’s all you need
to lead a good life.
Brain at the base of the mind,
Heart at the base of existence,
Character at the base of the shoulder,
that’s all you need to lead a good life.
Materialism normalized as abundance
chains freedom, and renders life a cripple.
True abundance instills content not clutter,
Actual needs of life are rather little.

Allergic to Opulence (Sonnet 2230) – Abhijit Naskar, Iftar-e Insaniyat: The First Supper
Do I have any right to happiness,
when millions go without food and shelter!
That’s why, there’s not a trace of luxury in my life,
I churn out humanitarian electricity all waking hours.
Most expensive clothes I own cost 20 dollars,
most expensive devices I own cost 200 dollars.
Born to a factory worker, I never knew luxury,
then I made me a name, but saw the world’s condition,
I grew an absolute repulsion to lifestyle luxurious.
The question is not, how much can I enjoy,
but how much can I endure to lift up the world!
Life’s meaning comes not from what we gain for
ourselves, but from what we give up for others.
I’m existentially allergic to opulence,
every soft bed feels like a betrayal –
expensive meals scream of starving children,
dollar spent on luxury is a dollar animal.
