Sonnet 1984 – Abhijit Naskar, Azad Earth Army: When The World Cries Blood

Government IDs are just ankle monitors, issued
to tag citizens like dogs, or I should say, apes.
There can be governments without constitution,
but there is no government without surveillance.

When you elect a so-called representative,
you’re officially signing your life to them.
Don’t be naive enough to think otherwise,
and then yell about human rights violation.

Violation of citizen rights is right of the government,
it’s the unspoken rule of the handbook of democracy.
Once in a blue moon you may get a benevolent government,
but 9 times out of 10 you’ll end up under an autocracy.

A freethinking citizen is contradiction in terms,
no good to the grand design of democratic dictatorship.
Democracy in books is, for the people, by the people,
democracy on street is rule of the apes in a land of sheep.

Hope Gone Sour (American Sonnet) – Abhijit Naskar, Azad Earth Army

America is not a country,
America is an abomination.
America is a scourge on
the fabric of time, the
ideal tale of precaution.

America is a living record
of humans regressing to animal.
America is a perfect specimen
of democracy cleverly dismantled.

America is a nation built by
terrorists for the terrorists.
America holds world record for
humanity’s worst of atrocities.

America is a promise of hope gone sour.
America is plague amongst fellowship of powers.

Way of The Slipper (Bug-Repellent Sonnet) – Abhijit Naskar, Neurosonnets

This prehistoric world has an instinctual
affinity to black and white, binary concepts.
Justice is too grand an exercise to be contained
by the binary nonsense of violence and nonviolence.

Bullets are an act of violence, silence
is an act of bookish nonviolence – but there
is a third option – the way of the slipper.
Slippers are more effective in fighting bugs,
than bullets – slippers strip the bugs of
power, while bullets make them martyr.

With all your slippers combined,
the mightiest of tyrant is bound to fall,
be it a state head, court judge or copper,
or oligarchs rendering democracy into jungle.

When people blow their top, billionaires
become bum, and presidents turn tramp.
Fetch the household bug-repellent from
under your feet, and treat the corrupt
and bigoted like your offspring gone bad.

“Mass deportation is human trafficking.” – Abhijit Naskar, Neurosonnets

Mass deportation is human trafficking, but you’d have to have a human heart, unchained by patriotic allegiances, to fathom this. Every genocidal maniac is a patriot, and it’s the golden age of crime, when the biggest cartel of a nation is its own government.

Rx for Fascism (Sonnet) – Abhijit Naskar, Neurosonnets

Gaza is not for sale,
Greenland is not for sale,
Ukraine is not for sale,
Canada is not for sale.

Planet Earth is not real estate,
to pander to your predatory psychopathy.
If you are so hard up for cash, we can all
chip in to buy you some good ol shock therapy.

When someone plays fast and loose with rights
and freedom, their place is either in the jungle
or in a mental institution, not in office.
Fascism, fundamentalism and nationalism,
these are the ultimate mental illness.

Children of South (World Sonnet) – Abhijit Naskar, Neurosonnets

Africa is not a charity case,
Colombia is not a charity case,
Bolivia is not a charity case,
Venezuela is not a charity case,

Mexico is not a charity case,
Philippines is not a charity case,
Thailand is not a charity case,
India is not a charity case –

the global south is not a charity case,
it’s rich with both mind and minerals.
Human poverty in the global south is
manufactured by the northern apes.

Awake, Arise, O Children of South,
you got more brain, heart and backbone
than all old and new colonials combined.
Humans of Earth everywhere, all rise ‘n roar,
the first global goal is to fire the fascists.

Netflix and Genocide (Sonnet) – Abhijit Naskar, Neurosonnets

Post-apocalyptic world will
never unfold like in the movies,
the post-apocalyptic world already
exists, may be not for you, as you’re
born on the lucky side of privilege –

but that world of drought, flood, famine,
plague and persecution already exists –
the post-apocalyptic world is now,
ten steps from the door of the privileged.

Privilege defines whether
it’s a post-apocalyptic world –
step outside the castle,
and apocalypse is everywhere.

Or you just Netflix and chill,
while human communities crumble!
Apes binge-watch the occupation,
deportation and genocide,
aloof from their smart-castle.
