My friends call me Nate so please do the same!

Other than taking care of my family and writing speculative fiction, I am into black tea (cream and sugar, please), semi-extreme sports, tropical plants, the ocean, graphic design, travel, books about travel, marketing (not great, but getting better), playing Minecraft and Mario Kart with my kids, watching Minecraft Youtubers with my kids, old houses, religion, podcasts, history, learning how people are making the world better, formula one racing (as of 2021), epic adventure movies and tv shows, and long and wide-ranging late night conversations with friends.

The Greysuits themselves are suits made of nanobots which can do all kinds of interesting things following the mental instructions of the wearer. All that stuff took a while to work out as I was writing, but I think I ended up with something fairly believable that was able to accomplish what I needed it to for the story.(less)

Can you believe we're almost into May?

The weather here, following the typical Baltimore Triangle rollercoaster ride, has been all over the place.

Last week I took a bunch of my tropical houseplants and water-propogated plant starts out onto our sunroom/back porch to get them out of the house, where they've been on the kitchen
