Alas, like a lot of writers, if my life was filled with mystery and intrigue, I wouldn't need to make it up.

However, our move to the Upper Cumberland Plateau (read mountain) in Tennessee is a mystery to our friends. I'm capitalizing on the move by taking two of my characters with me, Sophia Burgess and Ray Stone from the Imperfect Series. Book four, tentatively titled Imperfect Escape, focuses on the meth problem that runs across the southern states--now called the meth belt.

First, read Imperfect Defense, which is available on May 1.

In Imperfect Defense, elder abuse becomes a reality to nurse Sophia Burgess after her elderly friend is murdered and the father-in-law of a powerful man comes to the hospital with injuries that do not look accidental. When her superiors don’t see it her way and refuse to report the suspected abuse, Sophia’s fiancé, Detective Ray Stone, encourages her to make the call. That action enrages the injured man’s daughter who goes on the offensive. Character assassination, both in the hospital and on social media appear more annoying than harmful—until the stalking begins.

Detective Stone works the murder case, but the closer he gets, the more dangerous Sophia's situation becomes. Must she pay the ultimate price for trying to protect the innocent?

OMG: Things are Different in Tennessee, Part 6. Jury Duty

Darn, I'm must live in the SOUTH!

I am the proud recipient of a summons for Jury Duty! Proud? Well if I'm summoned, I must be officially a Tennessean, albeit recently transplanted.

I decided to wear teacher clothes, which some people might call business casual, to show proper respect for the court. To me that meant slacks, a sweater, flat shoes, and an extra sweater in case the courtroom was freezin Read more of this blog post »
