Kirkus-acclaimed author Jonathan Kieran is a writer and illustrator with a passion for world travel and ancient history—and an occasionally bewildered grasp of the present. He lives in a rustic house in the woodlands not far from Big Sur, California, where he awaits the future confidently with plenty of firewood, a new cat named Beezley, mercurial internet access, a magical footbridge (troll-infested and everything), and a reasonable supply of Cabernet Sauvignon. There also appears to be a significant Pinot Noir backup; viticultural shortages are not to be countenanced.

But when he awoke the next morning gagged, chained to the bed, and anesthetized from the chest down to see Kara gnawing at a purplish coil of his upper intestine pulled from a small incision above the groin, he knew the marriage had probably been a mistake.(less)

But the honest answer is: “I’d enter the world of Tolkien’s ‘The Silmarillion’ and hang around Arda as a forest-oriented Maia ... until I got the itch to fly off to Middle Earth and explore kingdom-ruling opportunities.” 😁(less)

ALERT: Book Trailer World Premiere

Well, at long last, the full book trailer and story soundtrack for my new eldritch fantasy/cosmic horror novel, THE WEDNESDAY BOX, is here and it is a tour de force, if I do say so myself. So much work has gone into this little movie that provides a true emotional glimpse into the soul of my book. In collaboration with the gifted Eeva Lancaster, I wrote the theme song, Lead Me Back Home, and the e
