"تدور الرواية عن عالم العلماء الإمام الغزالي ، قصة حياته وما هو معروف من تحوله عن الإفتاء وعلم الكلام ومناقشة الفلاسفة إلى التصوف ، وحتى وفاته/قتله على يد الباطنية.

“صوت الأوراق في الكتاب لأعز عندي من ملاعبة صديقة أو مصاحبة رفيقة. عندما تقلب الصفحات بين أناملي أسمع وقعها في قوقعة أذني فأضطر لأن أغمض عيني و أستمتع بسيمفونية سريعة و حين تلامس الصفحة المقلوبة النسمة تصعد إلى أنفي الصغير رائحة الرث الموجودة في الكتاب.”
