Listopia > CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE COVER!!!
Helpful librarians, if you remove books with revealed covers in this list, thank you and please list the revealed covers in the comments for celebration and posterity. Please also be careful NOT to remove placeholder covers or covers not confirmed by author and/or publisher. Much appreciated.

Will these stay on the list once their titles are released?

I wasn't able to confirm those were actual covers yesterday; I will take another look today. If you have links to their authors or publishers with the reveal, I'd appreciate it.
Was able to confirm a few more. Deleted:
I still can't find anything from the authors confirming the covers shown for This Savage Song or Ruined. The publisher is still showing the cover as to be revealed on both, so I'm not deleting them at this time. If anyone finds a link to the author announcing the covers, post it in the comments here and I'll follow up.
Front Lines (Soldier Girl #1) and The Crown's Game (The Crown's Game #1) look like final covers? I could be wrong though. =P---Nov 20, 2015 10:15AM---

BTW, I'm not really that familiar with listopia, but I think the "remove revealed covers" treatment is nice that makes the list stay true to its original purpose; however, is it possible that from now on, whenever removing a revealed cover, also list its final position and how many people voted for it? Just to show how anticipated it was prior to its removal. I mean, that sounds like a lot of work just by typing out, but it's just a thought. xP
Edited: On that note, I remember The Reader (Sea of Ink and Gold #1) was on #89 and 4 people voted for it when I mentioned it. Dunno if it changed afterwards.

It doesn't show me any of that info while I'm in there, so I'd have to write it all down prior to deleting then type it into the comment. Deleted duplicate of Heartless, which also looks like it might have a cover, but I can't find author or publisher confirmation and it's not up on amazon yet, so I'm leaving it for now. Sometimes I just like to browse covers. I have mostly broken my habit of reading because of a beautiful cover (mostly), but it is still so much fun just to look.

And deleted (legitimately this time) for revealed cover:
(It's #123 now with score: 139, and 2 people voted, but it was in the top ten or twenty I believe when I accidentally deleted it the first time.)
Shera (Book Whispers) wrote: "Not me!!! No matter how many times I get burned by a beautiful cover."
:) They are like candy, right? Truthfully it's probably not so much that I've broken the habit as that I've gotten more disciplined about tracking my obsessions on Goodreads. I can always look at my towering mountain of a TBR stack and think, "Oh, no, I really don't need to add to that. Much." At least now if I impulse buy I know I'm bumping something else down the list.
It's hard not to add them! My TBR is a mess!Though if I think about it my favorite books have some ugly covers! (Well before some of them got makeovers.)

Also, didn't even notice this was on the list:
The Princess and the Guard (The Lunar Chronicles #3.6)

#28, score: 2,223, and 26 people voted
I believe this one should be removed, as it was originally going to actually be published (like ebook or something along the lines), but then they decided to do Stars Above instead; it is now only included in this collection, as far as I know, this short story is not gonna be published separately.

A little bit confused about this one:
Icicles Like Kindling (Snow Like Ashes, #0.1)
#52, score: 736, and 9 people voted
It has already been published online for free (for quite some time); I don't think it'll ever get an actual cover... Does it still need to be listed?

To the reply below: No worries! I respect people dealing with RL xDDD
Yes, I did get your message, Sammm. I had set it aside to work this weekend and then I wasn't able to spend the time. I will get to it and the ones you listed above just as soon as I can. Sorry for the delay.
Because I'm paranoid, I decided to check the listed ones that are not "whole numbers" in a series; obviously some has already proven to actually have covers, but I didn't want stuff like Icicles Like Kindling (Snow Like Ashes, #0.1) to happen again. And I actually found something:Jadeite (Jaded, #3.1)
#85, score: 272, and 3 people voted
Canceled publication? The author posted the chapters on Facebook, see this review, so I don't believe there will be a cover.
Troubled Water (Once and Forever, #1.5)

This one SORT OF already has a cover reveal: the author shared it on her Facebook; however the comments indicated that the release date was TBA, due to the author's injury... however that's over a year ago. Not sure about the current status, though it kinda doesn't change the fact the cover was revealed?

This one is a bit confusing, and I'm not saying that it needs to be gone, but it's weird.
Six Feet Under (He Found Me #2.5)
#146, score: 99, and 1 person voted
The author left a review and tagged she was currently writing it, but that was in late 2014. No idea if it's still happening. It could be, but just a side note.
I deleted 3 books from this: Three Dark Crowns, Crooked Kingdom, and A Million Worlds with You. (All three covers have been revealed.)

Someone has... Although most definitely out of good intention, quite rudely removed some of the revealed covers without at least listing them out; I get that it takes time copy&pasting the statistic before their removal, but surely if you can't do that, letting other people know what you've removed CAN'T BE THAT HARD? Now it's like those books were never listed.I do not remember all the books that got deleted, therefore obviously not remembering their position and last vote count (if I'm able to provide statistic, it's because thankfully this list is shown on the books' page), but here are some that were definitely there before:
Wayfarer 11th out of 243 books — 1,033 voters
The Bronze Key 18th out of 243 books — 1,033 voters
and some I am not sure if I'm just imaging (kind of do think it's my imagination; you can't blame me though, I'm not the one removing stuff without documenting them):
(90% sure about A Shadow Bright and Burning and Caraval, but not 100%) But yeah, at least 10 books went missing. No idea what the other 6 are. I'm saying "at least" because I'm not sure if this person added more books when they were removing some.
---Apr 22, 2016---
So I decided to google "book cover reveals in april 2016" and see if I'll see something that'd jog my memory, and thus found http://www.yainterrobang.com/category... ; I'm adding some of the ones I feel like I've seen them on this list in the "not-sure" pile, but again I'm really not sure if I actually saw them elsewhere.

That's a bummer. A couple of those were covers I was holding off on because I wasn't able to confirm they are the real deal. I have edited the description to add the request that removed covers be documented in the comments. I'll also try to sweep twice a month or so.
---Edited on July 20, 2016 3:50PM---I belatedly realized Librarians can in fact check what books were removed @@, so those are the ones deleted on Apr 21, 2016:
While it's nice to know at least we know what got removed, unfortunately, their last position and other statistics seemed to remain unable to be recovered.

Hi there Rachel! It's good to see another librarian helping out! However, do you mind at least arranging the images to match their last ranking? e.g.:
[ bookcover:|28260587][ bookcover:|25054848][ bookcover:|26874946][ bookcover:|29939390]
(without the extra " " blank space so the code would actually work)
It'd look like this: (view spoiler)
Anyways, to answer your question, I'm afraid if you really want to remove the covers, you'd just have to do the effort of confirming whether they are real or not (aka looking it up yourself), as you've seen how other people have contributed in the comment area in the past. The only one I am certain that is NOT the final cover, is the HP one I quoted; you can see the "COVER NOT FINAL" statement on the corner of that image.

Amy (Other Amy) wrote: "I cannot use the Epic site per GR cover guidelines, [...]"
Something I've been meaning to ask... I've recently gained the librarian status and I want to make sure I'm doing things right. My question is that... Epic Reads is created by HarperCollins... at the very bottom of the site it has this statement:
Copyright © 2016 HarperCollins Publishers, All rights reserved.
On HarperCollins' website (www.harpercollins.com) you'd also frequently see the ad with this image below linking to the site;

That's actually how, for me personally, I came across EpicReads.com. I saw it so often that it really makes me feel HarperCollins genuinely wants people to go to the other site instead. Also found this particular sampler, in which the info listed "Imprint: Epic Reads Impulse"... idk if it's just me, but really just makes me think Epic Reads can be considered directly related to HarperCollins?
https://www.harpercollins.com/9780062...
This is part of what's on Epic Reads' Terms & Conditions:
Ownership
Welcome to the Web site at www.epicreads.com ("Site") which is owned by HarperCollins Publishers Inc. ("HCP"). This Site is operated by HCP, and materials on the Site are owned, for the most part, by HCP. The Site may also include materials owned by third parties and posted on the Site by virtue of a license, grant or some other form of agreement between the third party and HCP.
Now... I know there's the part about "The Site may also include materials owned by third parties"... But shouldn't "This Site is operated by HCP, and materials on the Site are owned, for the most part, by HCP." matter slightly more? I'm pretty sure HCP wouldn't allow false cover reveals for books published by themselves... and if I remembered correctly, if "confirmed by the author" counts, a lot of times through Twitter of Facebook, I see authors citing Epic Reads anyways. So yeah... Just want to make sure, does the site really still not count even though it is powered by HarperCollins?

It appears the Harry Potter cover has been confirmed; I am really surprised that is what they went with.

Here is the list of what GR allows for use with covers:

You could argue that the Epic site is a publisher site; I am gun shy due to the third party content; I prefer to err on the side of not deleting until the cover is confirmed either by the author or the actual publishing site or Amazon. Here is what I do when I work this list:
1) open all the book page for everything that looks like it has a cover in its own tab,
2) close out what still says "cover coming soon",
3) for each book, click on the Amazon link from the book page (because Amazon owns GR, they are the only bookseller we can use for covers, and if they've got it up, that's good enough confirmation for me),
4) if Amazon doesn't have it, click open the author page and, if they have a Twitter link, click that; for a recent cover reveal, you will usually find the author has posted their own photo or retweeted a link to the reveal on a book site (and if the author is endorsing it, that's your confirmation). If they don't have Twitter, I click on whatever the author has listed as their webpage; again, a recently revealed cover is usually there. Usually, that is as far as I am going, because I don't usually have time to dig any deeper.
5) If something really looks real and I have time, I will go see if I can find it on the publisher's official site, but I've had surprisingly little luck with that and have mostly stopped doing it.
If I can't find confirmation on Amazon or the author's Twitter or website, following these steps, I leave it on the list and check again the next sweep. If I confirm that something is self published, at this point, I'm removing it once the cover is posted. So far, this seems to be working pretty well. (I do also check any that are identified as probably having covers when I see that in the comments, and add the cover if I find it, assuming I have time to do so.)

Looks like Virtually Impossible was already removed; someone may have just removed their vote. Here is the cover:
I have been trying to confirm that cover for Spellslinger for a while now. If anyone can send me confirmation from author or publisher I will happily remove it. Also, The Black Witch has a cover shown, but looks like someone just attached some of the author's text images from her post about her galley copy, which may not be final, so I have not deleted it. Finally, I have been unable to confirm that the Captain Marvel YA Novel even exists, and I'm beginning to think it may not, so if anyone can help confirm either way on that I'd appreciate it greatly.
