Is there a correct reading order for the velvet and hammer books?

Hammer...Bent, Forged, Spoken, Found and there is also a short story (11 pages) called Groceries that deals with Marcus and Jim from Bent. I'd say it would be #2 in reading order if you get it.
Velvet...
I think the order is Braided, Anything for a Byline, Velvet Need, Ghost, Fits Like a Glove and then there are the paperbacks, Velvet Glove Volumes I thru V.

If you don't want to get the Velvet Glove paperbacks, if you subscribe to the Turn of The Screw serials at Torquere, they are all on there - its like 60+ chapters now. You can't download them but you can read them on your computer. There is a new chapter added each month. There are also the Dr. Fell stories as well as about 20 other stories in various stages of completion from nearly all your favorite Torquere authors where you can read them one chapter per month. Once the book is complete they pull it together and put it out for sale. (Inland Empire by James Buchanan and Cheek to Cheek by Chris Owen were on there just to name a few)
There is also some exclusive Jarhead stories also.
Jen, I've been thinking about subscribing to that. I guess I'll go ahead and do it. Sounds like there is some good stuff there.
There are some good stories, but lots of people are not good at waiting. Some of the stories I waited to read until they were almost done. Others, I can't wait for a new chapter each month and I have it on my calendar so I won't miss it. (I'm a dork). Also, I can sneak and read them from work during my lunch or break and that helps me get through Mondays :)
Nemesis wrote: "Zero at the Bone is a BDSM book!? Did I miss something when I read it?"I'd like to know that too since it's in my to-read list (not that it would be a probblem if it did).
Trix wrote: "Read "Zero at the Bone" and I couldn't find any BDSM elements in it."Yeah, me too :) Plain vanilla.
Why is the slave breaker series is there?I adore them but it's about institutionalized slavery who obviously include physical and mental domination and punishment but definitively not BDSM were the main rules are SANE-SAFE-CONSENSUAL. That's two entirely different thing.
There's no BDSM in A Zane Po' Boy (The O'Hagan Way, #3) by Joyee Flynn. I don't count sort of public sex as BDSM.
Order of Books in Sean Michael's Hammer series:Hammer 1: Bent
Hammer 2: Found
Hammer 3: Snared
Hammer 4: Owned
Hammer 5: Baked
Hammer 6: Burn
Hammer 7: Push
Hammer 8: Forged
Hammer 9: Sold … (Basis for the series: The Briar Rose)
Hammer 10: Spoken
Hammer 11: Drawn
Hammer 12: Gravity
Hammer 13: Solitary
Hammer 14: Trust
Hammer 15: Switch
Hammer 16: Beaten
These are the main stories with the shorts fitting in between
I don't have all of Sean Michael's Velvet Glove series, but of those I do, this is their order:Velvet Glove 1.1: Connor’s Journey
Velvet Glove 3.1: Ghost
Velvet Glove 3.2: Velvet Need
Velvet Glove 4.1: Puppy Love
Velvet Glove 4.2: Anything for a
Velvet Glove 5.3: Fits Like a
Velvet Glove 11: Rock Stars and Size Queens
I would say SafeWord and "The Current Between Us" would be my favorite. Sometimes I need to take a break though and just watch something good at http://gaykink.colatube.com/
#53 Fish & Chips by Abigail Roux also has ZERO BDSM in it. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zero.Is there a way to remove these books that have no bdsm aspects in them?
I was surprised by some of the books on this list. Maybe people just aren't sure exactly what BDSM is.

Hey Amanda, thanks for pointing this out. I removed it from the list.
There are books on so many of the lists that don't belong. (i.e. 30% of the books on 'M/M Books Written by Men' have been written by women with ambiguous names.) I've started a few Best M/M lists that I regularly have to monitor to rid them of M/F and M/F/M books that sometimes appear. What's needed is a system for any member to flag such books, a la 'Miscategorized' on Craig's List. If this could somehow be implemented, we wouldn't be spending time and money on books we'd no desire to read.
Don wrote: "What's needed is a system for any member to flag such books, a la 'Miscategorized' on Craig's List. "Agreed.
Lists works best where the original makers tends and prunes them, and leaves a good, clear description.
For example, here, is this intended for all stories that include any elements of bondage, domination, sadism etc; hence, the slavefics. Or was it intended to have only SSC/RACK semi-formal play (in which case about 1/4 of the fics on here need to be gone). What about if it's supposed to be SSC BDSM but at least one player breaks the rules (e.g. Catalyst)
"Black Unicorn" at 455: not M/M; involves a "Mistress." Probably should be removed.
"Christmas Lights Battle," at 639: I'm not seeing any indication it's BDSM.
Fit to be Tied I think beeing kidnapped and tortured by a serial killer does not count as bdsm...Especially as there is no " sexual" element involved...
