message 19: by Blue_sky1 (new)

Blue_sky1 I am looking for a harlequin romance book published in the 1990s. The setting is a ranch in Montana or Texas. The heroine come to work in the ranch as a young girl. She falls in love with the owners son, but the hero ignores her. When the owner dies, he leaves the ranch to her and the son, on the condition that they have to marry each other. The hero resists it, but he finally figures out he loves her when her horse gets tangle in the wire fence and she almost dies. He even wants to shoot the horse to save her.

TAMMY Looking for a book i do believe was a harlequin presents(but not 100% sure). It would have been in the 90's time frame. It was greek hero whom believes his lover, who works for him has betrayed him, he is extremely cruel and she runs off and hides and of course has his child (a daughter). He searches for her and finds her when the daughter is four years old. He is sitting in a car watching her and I do believe that is when he first sees his daughter. The heroine sees him she is terrified, which he was searching for her still out of revenge for what he thinks she did. I remember it was a very heart wrenching story but would like to read again. I just cannot remember name or author of book, anyone have any ideas?

BookLovingLady (deceased Jan. 25, 2023...) Wow, some of these authors were already writing 40 years ago, when I was a teenager...! Anne Mather to name just one; I just loved her Leopard in the Snow. Here in the Netherlands we had 'Bouquet Reeks' (published by Harlequin) and I, and my schoolmates with me, used to devour the four books published each month :-) I think 'Bouquet Reeks' still exist, by the way.

message 24: by Smicki (new)

Smicki The plot, he seduces and marries her in a hurry. Yet as soon as they are married he locks her up and tells her it was all revenge for a car accident where he thinks she was driving that killed someone he loved. Anyone know the name of this book? Not positive if it was Harlequin or Silhouette romance but it was not blaze, desire, temptation, or super romance etc. It might have been one of the first presents... I know I am aging myself there lol.

I think that's Betrayal in Bali by Sally Wentworth. Her titles are usually seething with vengeful angst and sometimes complete lunacy, but usually great. You'd probably love another of hers - The Judas Kiss.

message 29: by Debbie (new)

Debbie Looking for a book. I think it a harlequin romance.
A gilr hits an older woman with a car and the older woman's grandson (a doctor) has her charged and they go to court. Girl wins and builds a relationship with the women she hit and graandson is not happy. The girl is a student and working 2 /3 jobs just to pay off court fees and school. Anyone have any ideas?
