I wouldn't say that Middlesex is an FTM/Trans Men book. In fact, that is putting it in the wrong category. Middlexsex is about an intersex person, not a transgender person. Some intersex people identify as trans, but not all. Since Cal never really identified as trans in the book, this is not the correct list to put it in.

I agree. I removed Middlesex from the list.

how central a character should the guy be to consider this book on the list? I'm thinking of Poison Study (which is currently on the list) and Blue Magic (which isn't yet). Is a side (but important) character sufficient?

Ezekiel, I'm not the list creator, but I was assuming side characters are ok. A lot of the books I've added only have FTM side characters (which I've noted in my comments). If we limited to main characters only, it would be a very short list!

Should I add A Harvest of Ripe Figs because of Micah? I've gotten some really positive feedback about him but he's by no means any kind of main character, just a trans teenager who gets a happy ending.

I'm not the list creator either (and it looks like that person's deleted anyway), but I would argue that the list should feature main characters (protagonists or at least characters who play a major role and are close to the protagonist) rather than side characters. Otherwise it kind of loses its FTM focus.

Most of the books listed do have major FTM characters. If it's not the MC, it's at least a character with a lot of page time who's close to the MC.

there is an awesome book that should be on the list-a girl that trans to man-
he meets this guy on the highway, near truckstop, and the guy is driving a truck, and offers him a ride, and he thinks the younger guy (trans) is attrative-but sees he is nervous about things, and he wants to take him out...the guy who trans has issues-he was assaulted in highschool before he transitioned by his boyfriend and his friends-he lives w/ his older brother, and the guy who gave him the ride shows up, and wants to know what is wrong-the younger man begs his brother not to leave him alone with him, but brother knows he needs to confront the assault-and hopes this guy cares enough about his brother, because this can fix his brother or ruin him
when he is confronting the guy to admit to it, the younger guy gets angry and violent-even hitting the man, but he refuses to leave, and pushes him thru it.....
it is REALLY an emotional, honestly painful book-but the feelings are so real..it makes it a great read...i wish i remembered the title...i am so angry at myself for not writing it down!!!!

i remembered the name of this book,.....can you please add 'boy in the shadows' by AM Snead to this list???

please remove "Blood and Visions: Womyn Reconciling with Being Female" it shouldnt be on this list, the title alone is a huge red flag

"Blood and Visions: Womyn Reconciling with Being Female" should be removed from the list, why would a terf book be put on a reading list for ftm novels

grl2grl by Julie Anne Peters is about women (including trans women) not trans men so it's also on wrong list.
