Goodreads asked D.G. Allen:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

D.G. Allen Write because you need to, not because you want to. Everyone has a story and everyone can write a book, but few can tell a story. Don't be afraid to wait, let yourself grow and mature into a story teller as opposed to falling into the societal trap of "IT MUST BE DONE NOW". A writer should be like a fine wine that has a bit of age, a lot of sun, and just the right amount of water. Not to say that recent vintages or young writers can't be great, they can be amazing! But time is a writers greatest asset, the more time you put into your work, the better you will become.
