Goodreads asked Rebecca Duvall Scott:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Rebecca Duvall Scott Never give up, and find a good publisher the first time. I'm really glad I did my homework on how I wanted to publish and with who - good writers ruin their names all the time by self-publishing with good intentions. I'm also a huge fan of having an editorial board of readers to critique your work before a publisher sees it. The editorial board I picked for "Sensational Kids, Sensational Families" flagged several things I needed to improve and truly made my work the best it could be. We authors can't think of everything by ourselves! We need other perspectives to make it great and applicable to large audiences.
