“It is important to view knowledge as sort of a semantic tree -- make sure you understand the fundamental principles, ie the trunk and big branches, before you get into the leaves/details or there is nothing for them to hang on to.”
Elon Musk

Nassim Nicholas Taleb
“The best way to measure the loss of intellectual sophistication - this "nerdification," to put it bluntly - is in the growing disappearance of sarcasm, as mechanic minds take insults a bit too literally.”
Nassim Nicholas Taleb, The Bed of Procrustes: Philosophical and Practical Aphorisms

Nassim Nicholas Taleb
“The rationalist imagines an imbecile-free society; the empiricist and imbecile-proof one, or even better, a rationalist-proof one.”

Jerry Seinfeld
“Keep your head up in failure, and your head down in success.”

“Journalism is not a precise science, it's a crude art”
Dan Rather

“It seems to be in our nature to focus on how we were wrong over the fact that we're now smarter (as if we can't be works in progress), and we often attach our egos to what we believe. A view is just how you see something. It doesn't have to define you, and trying to detach from it to gain understanding can be a very good thing.”

“I know, I know, I know: it’s a defense mechanism, it’s a coping mechanism, capitalism killed all my hopes so I’m entitled to this, I hate my dad, yeah yeah yeah. You certainly are entitled to live this way. The question, my friend, is whether you actually want to live this way. How’s that coping mechanism going for you, hmmm? You coping pretty good? Posting Simpsons memes really defending you against the drudgery and injustice of a broken world? I’m guessing not! How many times a day do you have to evince derision without directly stating it to be impregnable? It seems exhausting. And how fucking old are people going to get, exactly, before they decide it’s beneath their dignity to live their entire lives in sneer quotes?”

“#*%[ESPN@LIVE] UFC 323 Reddit stream, TV channel & Petr Yan vs. Merab Dvalishvili Fight 2 Live Stream 6 December 2025

Two title fights headline the action at UFC 323 this Saturday, with an enticing preliminary card that will play a big role in reshaping the lightweight division.

Merab Dvalishvili returns to action at UFC 323 as he looks to extend his 14-win streak against Petr Yan and keep his clutches on the bantamweight title. But first, fans will want to tune in for a four-fight prelim card that features no fewer than three lightweight bouts that promise to heavily impact the division.

Chief among those is a climactic clash between Grant Dawson (23-2-1) and Manuel Torres (16-3), with the former out to climb from his current position of 13th in the rankings. Dawson has won three in a row coming to Nevada, though ‘El Loco’ is on a high after a first-round TKO of Drew Dober back in March, which forced his place up the pecking order.

The UFC’s bantamweight champion, Merab Dvalishvili, will step into the Octagon at UFC 323 with yet his latest chance to prove he’s almost unbeatable.

He’ll be trying to defend his UFC bantamweight title for the fourth straight time in a rematch against Petr Yan, and a loss would be Dvalishvili’s first since April 2018, when he suffered a defeat to Ricky Simon by guillotine choke.

Now he’s won 14 in a row, a streak that includes a victory over Yan by unanimous decision in 2023 and victories over luminaries such as Jose Aldo, Henry Cejudo and two against Sean O’Malley.

But for all of Dvalishvili’s dominance and charisma, he’s not necessarily a crowd-pleaser. Primarily a grappler, Dvalishvili (21-4, KOs) holds the UFC all-time record for takedowns with 117. But he has only one knockout during his 14-match winning streak.

Dana White is delivering a star-studded affair for ESPN’s final big numbered event, with a record-breaking bantamweight title rematch headlining. Merab Dvalishvili defends his belt for the fourth time inside a calendar year as he takes on old rival Petr Yan.

Then in the co-main event, flyweight gold is on the line as the seemingly unbeatable Alexandre Pantoja defends his title again. His challenger this time around is the fast-rising Joshua Van, who has exploded on the scene in recent months.

The rest of the main card is made up of former champions including Jan Blachowicz and Brandon Moreno. But the crown jewel of the undercard is the retirement fight of two-division champion and Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo against Peyton Talbott.”
