কোনো কোনো জায়গা অতিনাটকীয় এবং স্লো, তাই স্কিপ করতে ইচ্ছে হয়। মনে হয় যে আসল জায়গায় আসার আগে একটু বেশিই গৌরচন্দ্রিকা হয়ে যাচ্ছে। 1984 দাঙ্গার ঘটনার বিবরণ খুবই disturbing.
কাহিনীর মধ্যে সামাজিক শিক্ষার কিছু দৃশ্য খুবই ভালো লাগছে, বিশেষত অর্ণবের মনে অজান্তে ঢুকে যাওয়া লিঙ্গ ও ধর্ম ভিত্তিক বৈষম্যের ধারণার বশবর্তী হয়ে সে যখন ভুল করে ফেলে তার কাউন্সেলিং করার সময় অধিরাজের কথাগুলো মনে ছুঁয়ে যায়।

এখনও পর্যন্ত দুটো প্রেমের উপন্যাস পড়েছি। দুটি আলাদা সময়কালকে কেন্দ্র করে। প্রথমটি নির্ভেজাল ভালবাসার কাহিনী বলে। দ্বিতীয়টি তুলে ধরছে ভালবাসার বেহিসেবী হয়ে গেলে তার ভয়ংকর হৃদয়বিদারক পরিণতির করুণ কাহিনী।

অনেকদিন পর এমন একটা থ্রিলার পড়ছি যেটা কোনো মৃত্যু দিয়ে শুরু হয়নি। বরং টুকরো টুকরো ঘটনাগুলো জোড়া লাগানোর চেষ্টা করতে করতে, বইয়ের অর্ধেক পর্যন্ত এসেও সফল না হয়ে আর হাল ছেড়ে দিয়ে পড়ছি। তবে এতক্ষণ পর্যন্ত একটা ব্যাপার অবাক লাগছে, এখানে যেন সবই কেমন অলৌকিক আর অস্বাভাবিক। একটু ভয় ভয় লাগছে বৈকি।

কাল্পনিক গোয়েন্দা গল্পে দেখা যায় শেষে অপরাধী চিহ্নিত হচ্ছে। কিন্তু এখানে একটু অন্যরকম। অপরাধী কে সে সবাই বুঝতে পারছে কিন্তু তাঁকে ধরা এবং আইনের মারপ্যাঁচে তাকে আসলেই দোষী সাব্যস্ত করার যে লড়াই, সেটা উঠে আসছে।

এখনও পর্যন্ত কে কী চাইছে আর কে কোন ভুমিকায় আছে বোঝা যাচ্ছে না। খুব একটা শক্ত আকর্ষণে বাঁধতে পারছে না কাহিনী। আরো ভালো কিছু পাওয়ার অপেক্ষায় বইটি পড়ে যাচ্ছি।
after page 120, এবার ভালো লাগছে। রাশাদ আর জয়িতা যখন শ্রীলঙ্কা যাচ্ছে তখন মনে হচ্ছে এবার কিছু একটা হবে। রামায়ণের অনেক জানা অজানা কথা উঠে আসছে।

একটা বই হাতে নেওয়ার সময় কিছুটা হলেও সংশয় থাকে। ভালো লাগবে তো আদৌ? কিন্তু এই বইটা নিয়ে প্রথম লাইন পড়েই বুঝে ফেলেছি যে ভালো লাগতে বাধ্য। এমনি পাঠককে ধরে রাখার ক্ষমতা ও দক্ষতা দেখালেন লেখক।
