This book is very... confusing. I understand that it was written a long time ago in a style most writers don't use anymore (extremely flamboyant and descriptive), and it is overly wordy compared to what's published today, but Catherine is a complete twit! She runs hot to cold within the span of five minutes every time! And frankly, she keeps pissing me off because of it. Ugh!

Just uploaded a new quickie, and it seems to be more popular than my previous two.

Props to the author for knowing who Neal Peart is!

This author seems to love using the dialogue tags. "Said so-so". The writing is starting to drop in excellence. It's pissing me off. There is a lot of greatness to the style of writing, namely the voice. I love how this author writes, but they're beating the same phrases and using them too much. It slows the reading process down.

I like the writing, but there are self-important details left out of the story that we have to supplement as we keep reading, which is wrong. The author needs to tell us when certain things are said between characters, or certain activities happen. We can't assume something like this happens.

Ie) he's talking to his mentor about his powers, and we discover AFTERWARD what was "mentioned" that we didn't read happen.

All believability for this book flew out the door. Yes its 2005 so AOL is still around. But AOL is Hacker Paradise. There's no fucking way anyone in the Feds, or in the private sector, will use an AOL email for secure information. That is extremely stupid and the first mark of failure.

Okay now I really know the author didn't do research to make this story believable. Lacey is working for the FBI. She is going into a top secret assignment with an agent. I get her stupidity and lack of secrecy when discussing the case loud in public (rookie move), but to wonder why a gun would be needed? Wtf? Clearly, she's dumber than I gave her credit for if she thinks an assignment for the FBI won't involve guns

That excellent writing cooled down a lot. Almost as if the author knew the hook that drew in the reader has long since passed, so it was no longer necessary to keep up. Shoddy work, in my opinion. Also found another typo: pg168, "desert" should have TWO "s" to be a meal. Desert is a land of sand. Dessert is decadent food after dinner.

There seems to be an overuse of "wet panties", too. Not sure I believe it much.

Excellent story, and amazing writing. I ran into 2 typos so far. The spelling changed when she was first naming the bad guy, and at the end of pg115 "stared" should probably be "started". But other than that, the writing is fantastic and the story is great. I'm not too knowledgeable on FBI facts so I don't know how much truth is in it, but it's turning out to be a hot read. Great sex, too.

Um... it's a good idea but wtf?! Amateur writing. Page 4 and I've already run into adverbs that NEED to be removed. The author also TELLS descriptions, not shows. Ughn! And its okay if the chief can be a dick to her simply because he's sex-on-legs? Wtf? Fuck, I hope this sad writing doesn't carry throughout the whole book.

So far it's a very good book, despite all the bad rap it's getting. It's like people cant see that the characters are acting IN CHARACTER, so of course they'll be doing things the reader detests. Ryodan is a total dick. In character. Christian is changing and cant control it. TOTALLY in character. Hell, if people could read this with a writers eyes, they'd see it the way I do.

Holy fuck, this book is one of the hottest I've ever read!

Awesome story so far! Very well written, despite a sentence error on pg77 (a missing return between sentences). Characters are great. Theme works great on your emotions.

This writer needs to be slapped with a fucking dictionary. First John calls Grant a cougar. Then Sherrie considers Grant a mountain lion. Grant considers himself a panther. ALL OF THOSE ANIMALS ARE DIFFERENT FROM ONE ANOTHER!
And there is no way in hell an abductee will fuck her captor within 24hrs, anther man a day later, and both soon after that. Even Stockholm doesn't happen that fast!
This writer needs help.

Ummm... the beginning of this is farfetched. Sex with her captor within the first 24hrs? Immediate acceptance of her luck with being kidnapped? hmm... not realistic.

pg53, this doesn't make sense: "...allowing it out of the cage where it dwelt when his id was in control." "id"????? What the hell is that? a typo? Not a good start. And the basic descriptions are already pushing it.

Another glaring typo. Author put "Adam qrinned puckishly" when I know it was meant to say "Adam grinned puckishly". Still a good book, but I'm beginning to recall that every one of them had a few writing errors.

Rereading this, and plan to read BOTH series in full order. But I just ran across a glaring typo. On pg35, top of the page, "...the was year 1513..." I believe it was supposed to say "...the year was 1513...". *sigh* still a good book though. I already know it.

It's not bad. A little tough wrapping my head around 1st person present tense so suddenly. Everything is pretty much written in 3rd person or past tense, or both.

Found two glaring typos in the same paragraph on page 18 already. Hope it's not a trend. It actually jarred my reading.

This is definitely not light reading. Very descriptive. Very well use of show don't tell. Very tough on my comprehension. Only problem I'm finding is that it slows my reading down and slows down the action scenes.

I'm trying to read this. It began well but now I'm having trouble. I know the hero was given a spell to help him understand our world, but it's like he's a native. Nothing seems confusing and new; it's like he's seen it all before. Doesn't help make things believable. This story reads like a fanfiction of Captive Dreams, even though it's written by the same main author.

And the main story is ABOUT fanfiction.

So far, the story's good but there's a bunch of words missing throughout, as if she wrote too fast and forgot them, or had to remove a bunch in sporadic places to shrink word count. Honestly, it's sad writing. And she has an overabundance use of "grimly". Again, sad writing. The sexual parts could be better, too.

So far, so good. It's about time I find another quick book that I can enjoy. It's written rather well, and certainly keeps me on edge.

So far, the author keeps repeating the term "eerie", and doesn't do a fantastic job making the reader feel the two characters are only looking for no-strings-attached sex. Seems the author wants you to know it, but is playing it up for a romance despite what they're telling. Hope it gets better soon. I find myself pushing through, and it's only chapter 2.
