The story of the Australian probe is so heartbreaking but was also necessary for conext. I mean, it would be VERY unlikely for all nations to have managed to successfully create replicants.

A sentient species on a not-so-far-away planet and watching them is ... weirdly touching. I'm not sure if I would care as much about the Deltans (though I absolutely cry when watching documentaries about certain Terran animal species) but who knows.

It is so interesting how different the Bobs are, whatever the reason for it. Naturally, it's also good (if not even vital) for the story. But one of the fantastic aspects of this series is how it makes you think about the tech and if / how elements could / would work in the real world.

I just found out that one of my all-time favorite stories, The Count of Monte Cristo, has been adapted as a TV show.



No idea on how good it is exactly but I'm watching episode 1 as we speak and apart from some modern details that stick out like a sore thumb, I like the cast.

Anyone else excited?! :D

Hello Saturn - and many other planets. :D I loooove Bob's enthusiasm. He's like a little kid and I understand him so well.

We are now also foraging into Bob's VR capabilities more and I feel like setting up a game.

Here we go again. Couldn't resist the new hardcover editions - Bob deserves really nice print versions.

We're back in the lab where it all began with Dr. Landers.

OK, we're finally picking up some steam! Though I would have preferred more fights against spider flowers (or flower spiders?) and other critters. *evil grin*

I might need to point out that me liking this way more now is 50% because of Elias. *swoons*

For some reason, this is still not grabbing me like other IA books. :/

I love the dog and especially the worldbuilding (exploring those breaches is amazing or would be if we got more of it). However, the MC sounds whiney (or is it the audio narrator?) and her thoughts appear repetitive.

Hopefully, the bug monsters will make this pick up!

I really like how these two authors wrote this book!

Many of the historical details are not new to me but that doesn't make it any less interesting to me.

Particularly weird is the difference in how the US and Europe handled their witch trails right up to this day!

Ah, yes, the time between Christmas and New Year when I never know what day it is, which planet I'm on, who I am and if so, how many. *lol* A downright magical time. ;P I spent two of the last three days going on walks around my town's lage and Tittisee in the Black Forest.

Spent the last three days first seeing a comedy show and then going to two Christmas markets, the absolute highlight of which was the one in the Ravenna gorge!

I bought this for myself on St. Nicholas' Day. I won't have the time or energy to make anything from this book this year but I do have fantastic ideas for 2026 and wanted to have an early start. ;P

Definitely a beautifully done book - and along with Chicago, New York City looks rather perfect during the Advent. :D

A happy, albeit belated, Thanksgiving!







Some pretty bad issues got resolved on Wednesday, just in time for this holiday. Thus, I decided to celebrate and spent the day out.

Wonderful atmosphere in the Rainfall Market so far! I'm getting Miyazaki vibes which are sending chills down my spine (in a good way)!

Ha! The book has a book about the Rainfall Market in it with reference to its author that could very well been a reference to the actual author. Very meta. :D

It's very nice so far!

I'm slow and this one hasn't sucked me in like previous IA books but I do like the worldbuilding though I had to switch off my critical thinking twice (and it bothers me that I even noticed *lol*).
