Reading this noval during a holiday is a reminder of how fortunate I am. I know it's a fiction but some parts reminded me of my grandmother's childhood tales about people in their village who could not find food though they're framers. Some parts were shocking like a mom killing her newborn baby just because it's a girl. Not sure how accurate it is but it made me think of what poverty changes in people.

Couldn't stop reading. What a lovely book! Before reading it, I thought to myself.. I'm an Arab and find it difficult to marry a bedouin. How and why did she do it? Now I understand. Mohammad is such a nice, compassionate, free-spirited guy. Both lived a simple but full of truth life. This is an unusual but interesting love story. I admire meg's courage, Mohamad's confidence and her parents' understanding and trust.

لا اظن أنني قرأت هذا العام الكثير من الكتب العربية. وإن قرأت فهي مترجمة للعربية. ظننت بأنه لا شيء مميز أو ممتع ليُقرأ وقد يكون السبب تقصيري من ناحية البحث عنها. على العموم، تفوز بثينة! كُتبها "الحساسة" جميلة! أعادت لي شهيتي لأن أقرأ أكثر بالعربية لكُتاب عرب.
