I got about 2/3 through this before the book was destroyed in a flood. But I was basically done. The biggest issue with this novel is that the author continually reminds you of his winning literary contests through his autobiographical avatar.

Reading Crooked Plow by IV Junior is really making it clear how strange it is that GG Marquez never put overt class politics in his novels.
