Facts and Belief (The Sonnet) | Handcrafted Humanity
No belief is worth losing your humanity over,
No intellect is worth losing your kindness over.
Facts, faith, reason, religion all come later,
First and foremost we must humanize our behavior.
If a belief or intellect makes you a better person,
More power to your belief or intellect I say.
But if they become a hindrance to your humanity,
Throw it immediately like poison far, far away.
Beliefs have cast shadows of wars throughout history,
Facts have provided weapons for those wars.
Then again beliefs have taught us to love our neighbor,
Facts have helped us fight calamity and disorders.
Let all beliefs and facts be guided by a warm heart.
Warmth alone will make our world fit for human birth.

Honor He Wrote Sonnet 62
Belief sustains a person,
But behavior sustains a society.
Belief has nothing to do with truth,
It is just a matter of mental necessity.
Often our belief defies all reason,
That's absolutely okay to a great extent.
What's not okay is to impose it on others,
To sentence others to our imprisonment.
I believe, that my teacher watches over me,
Even though he walks the earth no more.
This belief has nothing to do with your life,
But it helps me walk past my crippling woe.
All beliefs are good beliefs with or without reason,
If they help you in life to become a better person.
But behavior sustains a society.
Belief has nothing to do with truth,
It is just a matter of mental necessity.
Often our belief defies all reason,
That's absolutely okay to a great extent.

Chrismadan (The Sonnet) | Armor of The World
What happens when two ancient cultures come together!
They create a spectacular specimen called dervish advaitin.
When mistletoe and menorrah combine, heart shines brighter,
Beyond belief ‘n disbelief, there’s a land most enlightening.
Keep your outdated sectarian identities to yourself,
I am Jewistian, Hinduslim, or simply Human Universal.
Be the next civilized step of humankind’s evolution,
Not just another savage vessel of mistakes ancestral.
Revitalized by Ramadan, humanized by Christmas,
Let’s celebrate Chrismadan, as well as Hanukkawali.
Instead of carrying on as second-hand savages,
Habibi come, let us start living with humanity!
When all religions combine, a modern human is born.
Without integration there is no dawn, just endless mourn.

Tanrınator (The Sonnet) | Abhijit Naskar | Yüz Şiirlerin Yüzüğü (Ring of 100 Poems, Bilingual Edition): 100 Turkish Poems with Translations
To the christian I’m christian –
to neonazism, I’m nazarene ravager.
To the jew I’m just a jew –
to zionism, I’m thunderahava.
To the sanatani I’m advaitin –
to hindutva, I’m narasimha.
To the muslim I’m sufi fakir –
to islamism, I’m tanrınator.
To the atheist I’m rationalist,
to the militant I’m apocalypse.
To the intellectuals I’m an idiot,
to the narcissist I’m cataclysmic.
I’m a brother to every
believer and nonbeliever alike.
I’m the bridge that unites the shores,
I’m the bulldozer that obliterates divide.
to neonazism, I’m nazarene ravager.
To the jew I’m just a jew –

“I believe in the right to belief.” Abhijit Naskar, The Humanitarian Dictator
The believer is not to turn atheist,
the atheist is not to turn a believer.
Earth is a big place with room for all,
if only we could make our heart a bit wider!
I believe in the right to belief,
but not as excuse for discrimination.
My holiness has place for all myths,
but not for myths used for division.
My holiness is vast as the sky,
and deep as the ocean –
it has place for every faith,
but no place for intoleration.
the atheist is not to turn a believer.
Earth is a big place with room for all,
if only we could make our heart a bit wider!
I believe in the right to belief,

Letter to the Fundamentalist (Sonnet 1800) | Abhijit Naskar | The Humanitarian Dictator
You may be a fundamentalist nut,
but I’m a bigger nut than you.
You are nuts about one religion,
I hold all religions equally true.
You are nuts about one
single religion and culture,
I am nuts about a world full
of religions and cultures.
Problem is not that you believe in myths,
but that honor of myths trumps honor of life.
Every time you put fairytale before people,
you perpetuate a jungle tradition of lies.
You claim truth as one religion’s franchise,
I recognize the good in all walks of faith.
I pity those who claim exclusive prosperity,
True holiness begins at the end of all hate.
but I’m a bigger nut than you.
You are nuts about one religion,
I hold all religions equally true.
You are nuts about one

The God Commandment (Sonnet) – Abhijit Naskar, The God Sonnets

Love who you like,
stay single if you choose.
Have kids when you like,
or abort if you choose.
Keep god or not as you need,
convert to whatever you like.
There is no other grand design,
except a beautiful human mind.
What you believe or don’t is of no
consequence, one true god or another.
Imaginary friends are often therapeutic,
just don’t thrust your friend on another.
In my heart there is Mecca,
in my heart there is Bethlehem.
Humans come first, gods are disposable,
human choice is the God commandment.

Kingdom of God is Within You (Naskar’s Version, S.2457-2459) ― Abhijit Naskar, Sonnets From The Mountaintop
Leave it to the monkeys,
and every secular democracy
soon turns into a fanatic republic –
Christian Republic of America,
Islamic Republic of Turkey,
Jewish Republic of Palestine,
Sanatan Republic of India,
all run by prejudice legalized as piety,
and no humanity to speak of –
jungle grows tall in every corner,
survival of the chosen as ape gospel.
God’s original name is Human,
but it isn’t very profitable,
so the apes cook up fancy names,
and sprinkle in tales of magic.
Organized religion is the planet’s largest circus,
where apes commodify divinity to sell tickets –
more divide means more fear, means more control,
divine distant from human is the holy grail of commerce.
Human is the first and final name of divinity,
but that goes against the entire religious
industrial complex – for the purpose of brevity
I say religious, but I mean fundamentalist.
There’s not one religion but two,
one is commercial religion,
rooted in fear, prejudice and bigotry,
and the other is lived religion,
rooted in kindness and inclusivity –
the atheist and the believer
drink from the same water,
breathe the same air,
eat the same food –
mother nature, the actual origin of life,
doesn’t segregate between believer and
nonbeliever, it’s only the savages who do that.
