Parlez vous francais? "Ce que nous portons" Helene Cardona's new French translation of What We Carry by Dorianne Laux just came out from Editions du Cygne.

Dorianne Laux’s most recent books of poems are The Book of Men, winner of the Paterson Poetry Prize, and Facts about the Moon, recipient of the Oregon
Book Award and short-listed for the Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize. Laux is also author of Awake, What We Carry, finalist for the National Book Critic’s Circle Award, and Smoke.
Her work has received three “Best American Poetry” Prizes, a Pushcart Prize, two fellowships from The National Endowment for the Arts, and a Guggenheim Fellowship. In 2001, she was invited by late poet laureate Stanley Kunitz to read at the Library of Congress. In 2014 singer/songwriter Joan Osborne adapted her poem, “The Shipfitter’s Wife” and set it to music on her newest release, “Love and Hate”. She teaches poetry and directs the MFA program at North Carolina State University and she is founding faculty at Pacific University's Low Residency MFA Program.

Hélène Cardona is a poet, literary translator & actor, author of Dreaming My Animal Selves (Salmon Poetry), winner of the Pinnacle Book Award and of the 2014 Readers' Favorite Silver Medal Award in Poetry, finalist for the Julie Suk Award; The Astonished Universe (Red Hen Press); and Life in Suspension (Salmon Poetry, 2016). She translated Beyond Elsewhere by Gabriel Arnou-Laujeac.
She holds an MA in American Literature (Sorbonne), taught at Hamilton College & Loyola Marymount University, and received fellowships from the Goethe-Institut & Universidad Internacional de Andalucía. She is co-editor of Dublin Poetry Review and Levure Littéraire.
Other publications include Washington Square, World Literature Today, Poetry International, The Warwick Review, The Irish Literary Times, & many more.

Martha Rhodes is the author of five poetry collections, most recently The Thin Wall (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2017). She teaches at Sarah Lawrence College and the MFA Program for Writers at Warren Wilson College. She is the director of
Four Way Books and lives in New York City.
John FitzGerald’s most recent books are Favorite Bedtime Stories and The Mind, both from Salmon Poetry. Other works include Primate and The Essence of Life.
Hélène Cardona’s 7 books include Life in Suspension, the translations of Dorianne Laux’s What We Carry, Walt Whitman’s Civil War Writings, Birnam Wood, and Hemingway Grant winner Beyond Elsewhere. Acting credits include Chocolat, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, The Hundred-Foot Journey, For Serendipity.
Carolyn L. Tipton teaches at U.C. Berkeley. She has won fellowships from both the N.E.H. and the N.E.A. Her first book, To Painting: Poems by Rafael Alberti, won the National Translation Award. Her new book of translated poems by Alberti, Returnings: Poems of Love and Distance, won the Cliff Becker Translation Prize.
Stephen Kessler's translations of Luis Cernuda have received a Lambda Literary Award, the Harold Morton Landon Translation Award, and the PEN Center USA translation award.
