BDSM fiction about slavery and/or captivity. Both consensual and non-con. Please do not add D/s relationships where it is a submissive, not a slave.

Counterpoint by Rachel Haimowitz, Ann Somerville's Kei's Gift and I Was An Alien Cat Toy are definitively not BDSM. Even Bloodraven I think shouldn't be added here. Sure, these titles contain captivity/slavery, but this list requires first of all BDSM themes.

Thanks for pointing this out. Do they contain any Bondage, Dicipline, Sadomasochism, Domination, or Submission at all? I haven't read them so I don't know. But the list was requested by people in the BDSM group. If they don't then we'll remove them. If they do than maybe changing the name of the list will help? Because just because a book isn't advertised as BDSM doesn't mean that it doesn't contain enough of the topics I listed to be enjoyed by the community as such. And vice versa. lol I know I've read plenty of "BDSM" books that made me laugh for even considering being called so. :)
The first three titles that I mentioned don't contain any of these elements. Regarding Bloodraven, it has violence, rape, some dub-con scenes. The featured pair can be considered a little as a dominant/submissive one, but all of this happen in the context of real slavery. I don't know, but I wouldn't vote it here, although I've seen some people that have shelf it as a BDSM title. In the end, this is your choice :).The list's title is good, but as you said there are many books that bring in such subjects, and aren't classified as BDSM. Maybe a detailed description as to what these books should contain would be better :)

I'm just find it amusing calling a fiction book "real life slavery". I'm wondering if we should switch the book and ask the woman who created this list to switch the book to Non-Fiction BDSM since it's real life slavery.
Both slaves and captives are forced to submit to the domination of others, sexually and otherwise. If it's a D/s scenario, I call it BDSM. Most of those titles include bondage as well. If Comfort Food (slave/captive) is considered BDSM, how is that different than the above? I'm just not clear on how the lines are drawn.

I agree with you 100%! Some people only consider it BDSM if it's SSC and being forced definitely doesn't fall under SSC. However, I feel it's fiction for a reason. So if there is D/s it falls under BDSM whether it's consensual or not imo.

The latter is historical but they actually used anal plugs. Sex toys for guys with swords.

Well I don't see Fifty Shades of Greyas any sort of Capture/Slave story either. If it is BDSM it's not a capture or slave story. Doesn't fit IMHO.

Oh wait, I figured out how to fix it for MA. It's done. I don't know about the Roxy Harte ones though.
Heidi and the Kaiser made me laugh - a fun spanking story?? I don't think that's the same story I read, lol.

is definitely NOT BDSM or a slave/captive story. Its about a teacher and student trapped on a deserted island after a plane crash.

:-) I know, I wish there was a way for the creator to lock or be able to approve what is added to the list... that might be a great GR Feedback suggestion. I just know they are sick of hearing from me though :-)

well bloody hell again. GD. I need to get MA on this. I'll ping her again and let her know she needs to check every month. Grr.
I think some people might be confusing the Master/slave concept with Slave-captive stories... I don't really see those as the same thing. Just because there is a Master and a slave doesn't mean that they are in a captive situation... Do I have this concept wrong?

Just because there is a Master and a slave doesn't mean t..."I wondered about this distinction too, and so far had included both types of slaves in my tagging. If contemporary master/slave agreements should not be included (which I could agree with if we go that way), then some changes to the list should be made.
That's What Brothers Do and Collared would not technically fit the description - the first is about a guy who volunteered to be a pawn of the mob organization to save his family (though you could argue they enslaved him as a result) and the second is really a submissive who needs to be "claimed" not a captive or slave.
I was fine with both those books being on the list, but it's tough to draw a line sometimes.
Dee Wy wrote: "I ♥ Bookie Nookie wrote: "I think some people might be confusing the Master/slave concept with Slave-captive stories... I don't really see those as the same thing. actually, I wouldn't say any of the MASTERS OF THE SHADOWLANDS books are Slave-captive stories with the exception of
Cool, I'm fine with that! :D They are very similar scenarios. I edited my message above to note that "contemporary slave/master agreements" really are a bit different though, which is what I think Bookie was referring to.

Agree. The last one is the only one that dealt with the slave trade.

I know in some books they use the words Master and slave, but they aren't in a captive situation they are in a D/s relationship.
I'm looking for a captive story like Lost or Wanderlust. Do any of you know any? I've read many of these stories but I'm looking for something...else.Thanks in advance.

Is this the Wanderlust you are mentioning? You might want to join our BDSM group. We have lists in there too. As well as challenges which cover many different ones.
I haven't read Wanderlust, but perhaps you want to try Pam-Ann?

Yes that is the book I was referring to. And okay, I'll join the group. I usually just roam through the lists trying to find something interesting.
I'll look at Pam-Ann. Thank-you.

I want a book similar to consequences by aleatha romig, but where the girl gets revenge at the end instead of falling inlove
Hope wrote: "I want a book similar to consequences by aleatha romig, but where the girl gets revenge at the end instead of falling inlove"Hmm, this will take me a bit to think about.
Hello. I'm looking for a book. I don't remember the title or the author's name, but I do remember some of the plot. It's about a a girl who upon joining a college fraternity (or some such) agrees to get a certain result at the end of university studies and fails. Afterwards she is kidnapped and sold to a doctor who specializes in sexual enhancement drugs who experiments on her and trains her as a slave... If anyone can help me find the book, I'd be very grateful... Thanx :-)
