Also hers: the Blue Sword. Chalice is very unconventional (saving the world with honey?) but the Blue Sword is more of a traditional fantasy...so good, I almost fell off the couch.
More on the juvenile end, definitely fun: Dealing with Dragons, by Patricia Wrede. Girl chases off would-be rescuers because she's much happier as chief cook and librarian to the King of Dragons, who doesn't mind that she prefers fencing to embroidery.
