The five factions in my book's society used to be a be able to work in harmony. The community is now falling apart because one faction launched an attack on another, almost wiping it out completely. This has greatly shaped my main character's identity because she originally belonged to 3 factions, but had to chose 1. She is told to ignore her differences by her parents and friends, but now she can embrace her traits.

The identity of the character, Tris, is more complicated than the other characters. This is because she is divergent. She is made up of 3 factions, which means that she carries traits that people don't usually have at the same time. She craves knowledge, is a brave leader, but is also selfless, wanting to protect others. Tris wants to hide her divergence, and can be embarrassed because people often shame it. Goal 50.

I can relate to the main character of my book. Like tris, I am smaller than my peers, but I also have a psychological advantage on most of them. Tris often finds herself in situations in which she must act as a leader to less experienced companions, such as fighting the erudite and jumping on and off of moving trains. I sometimes feel that I must act like a leader when I am with my primarily younger family. Goal 80

If I could interview any minor character, I would talk to Edward. I would ask him about what his plans with the factionless were. He might suggest that they are planning to overthrow the faction government. This is because Tris hears Four's mom planning some kind of uprising, but she doesn't trust her completely. If this information was said by Edward, we would know that it was true because tris trusts him. Goal 80.

It is initiation day in the Dauntless faction. Tris has been secretly preparing for the fear simulator that they will go through. She faces her fears (only 7), and after, she is injected with a suspicious serum. After dinner, tris wakes up to see her friends all acting mechanical and getting dressed. She follows them, pretending to be asleep as they are armed. They attack her old faction, where her mom saves her. 80

If I was the author, I don't think that I would change the story at all. This is because there are many unpredictable events such as Al betraying Tris and attacking her with Peter. Also, I believe that the balance of good and bad characters is perfect for the story because there are characters such as Peter, who want to kill Tris out of jealousy, and there are also protective characters such as Four who help Tris.

The exposition is the part of a story where the author describes the characters and the setting of the story. In my story, the exposition tells the readers about the main character, Beatrice, and the society that she is in. Her city is divided into 5 factions, which are Abnegation, Erudite, Candor, Amity, and Dauntless. The author allows us to infer that the story takes place in the far future after a major war. 80.

I would not like to be a character in this book because the setting of the story is not ideal, and the lives of the characters from the dauntless faction are always in danger. Living in this time period and place would make living very difficult for example, a part of joining the dauntless faction is to win fights against your friends, and the only way to end them is by knocking them unconscious. Goal: 80 pages.

(Part 2) I have not been able to reach my reading goal of 80 pages this week because I was 5 pages short. I found that I always have been able to reach about 75-80 pages each week. I think that this is because I often forget to read during the week, and procrastinate, forcing me to read about 25 pages a day on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I will improve on this by setting time aside early in the week to read.Goal:80

The main character, Tris, selected the faction, dauntless. So far, 3 of the 12 initiates have died, but the surviving initiates have been told that only 10 of them and the dauntless born will be kept. Tris begins combat training, and finds that she is very bad at fighting. She is knocked out on her first fight, but she has also befriended other initiates, Al, Will, and Christina. (Part 1)

Michael is finished with Ender’s Game (Ender's Saga, #1)
I found Ender's Game hard to understand at times. This is because the point of view often changed, but as I finished the book, I became more used to the style of writing. I rate this book 7/10 because it has a great plot, but personally, I think that the way the author wrote the story was not easy to understand. I would recommend this book to young adults and teenagers because it is sci-fi book, which is popular. 90

I can relate to Ender in many ways. Something that is relatable to me that Ender does is he often must make very difficult decisions throughout the course of the book. These decisions include him leaving his family for battle school and him continuing to command school. I have b to make difficult decisions in my life such as if I should leave my family for a year to go to boarding school, or stay with my family. 90

I think the author's purpose in writing this book is to entertain. I believe this because although it could be informing us about an apocalypse or a war with other forms of life and how to prepare for it, I believe that the main purpose of the book is to entertain young adults with a scifi story of a genius boy who saves the earth and the human race. A message from the author was the importance of knowledge. Goal 100

The humans have barely won a war against aliens. They are currently preparing for the next attack from the aliens, but they need a new general. The army scouts the main character, a boy named Ender to be a new general. They bring him to battle school to train him for the war. At battle school, Ender begins to show a lot of promise to the teachers because he is a genius. My next goal is to read 100 pages.

An interesting character in this book is the best friend of the main character Percy Jackson. He is named Grover, and is a satyr. A satyr is half human and half goat. Grover is unsure of himself, and is always nervous about something. In this book, Grover changes from a misfit satyr to one of the satyrs on the head council. Grover doesn't know how to handle his new responsibilities, and he is unable to adapt soon.

The main conflict of the book is that Percy Jackson and three of his friends are trying to find the creator of the Labyrinth, a shape-shifting maze which is impossible to navigate. The creator, Deadalus is in hiding, and both Percy and the evil army of Kronos are trying to find him. His knowledge of the maze would help either army use it for their advantage in the war. Deadalus is well hidden, and hard to find.

In this book, the main antagonist is the "Titan Lord" named Kronos. Kronos is the Titan of time, and he is able to manipulate many people into being under his control. He controls one of the most powerful half-bloods at Percy's camp, Luke, to become his new body. Luke helps Kronos rise and become very powerful once again in hopes that he will rule the world as Kronos, but he doesn't realize that he is brainwashed.

In this book, the main character is named Percy Jackson. This is the third book that follows Percy's adventures every summer. Because Percy Jackson is a Demi-God, he has special abilities in water granted by his father, Poseidon. Percy is a fifteen year old boy with normal human friends, but he also has many other Demi-God friends as well as a satyr and a cyclops. His special abilities help him complete his quests.

The main conflict of this book is that the goddess, Artemis and Percy Jackson's best friend, Anasbeth are kidnapped and being held captive under the weight of the sky. The Titan general, Atlas, had them captured and brought to him. He forced them to take his usual spot of holding up the sky as punishment. Percy, Grover, Thalia, Zoe, and Bianca have to travel west by foot from NY to SF to save their friends.

Michael is finished with The Sea of Monsters (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #2)
The number three in this book is an important number. There are many instances where it is mentioned. Some examples are the three furies, the three main Greek gods, the person sent on a quest can only have two companions, making three people on the quest, and there are three sons of Kronos. Another archetype is the color red when describing the god of death, Hades. He and his castle are red, which can show death.

Michael is finished with The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #1)
The lightning Thief is a quest story. There iis evidence in the story that supports this idea. The main character, Percy Jackson is set on a quest by the gods to find Zeus's stolen lightning bolt. He has ten days to travel across the United States to track it down. He eventually finds it, and brings it back to Olympus. This may also be a voyage and return story because he returns to New York to give the bolt back.

The Lightning Theif has a conflict of character vs. character. This is because even though I am not far enough into the book to have experienced the conflict yet, but I read the back cover of the book and have seen that the conflict is that Percy was framed for stealing Zeus' lightning bolt. He has to now find the person who did steal it. The character vs character is Percy vs the lighting theif who framed him.
