Book 12: The Wall
— they interpret the weirdest shit sent from the gods
— hector being cool, as usual, “You tell me to put my trust in birds who flutter by, but birds are meaningless! (…) whether they fly towards the sun and dawn, eastward to the right of us, or westward, left, towards the darkness. (…) Patriotism is the one true bird.”

— With Apollo’s aid (sent by Zeus) Hector is sent back into battle replenished after his fight with Ajax
— Thoas encourages the Greeks to gather to face Hector and his Trojans—miraculously alive, but Apollo strips them of their courage during the battle
— Apollo fucks up the Greeks camp and sets way for the Trojans to march in with ease
— Patroclus T_T “Eurypylus, I know you need me here, but I can stay no longer. The conflict has intensified too much. Your man must care for you. I have to hurry and coax Achilles to rejoin the war. Who knows? My words may stir his angry heart perhaps, if some divinity is with us. Persuasion from a friend can be effective.” Stay in the tent noooooooo…
— Teucer almost kills Hector yet somehow fails and both he and Ajax realize the Greeks are ‘jinxed’ by the gods
— I love Hectors speech, “If you are wounded by flying arrows or a thrusting sword and meet your death and destiny—so be it! Die! You will suffer no disgrace in dying to save your fatherland. In future times, your wife and children will be safe, your household and land will be undamaged if the Greeks sail home to their own country.” Sigh…
— Be men! Salvation lies in our own hands alone!
— Not boring fighting this time…
