Thanks, I haven't read it. :) There doesn't have to be consensual power exchange for it to be BDSM... However if it is about only real life slavery then your right it doesn't belong on the TPE list. :)

I disagree. I think Anchored can be considered BDSM because of the sexual content involved. I haven't read Uncle Tom's cabin but if it has erotic sex involved, then go ahead and add it. However since it is slavery and not power given via TPE, then I can see where Barbara is going for not a TPE BDSM categorization. We can reclassify as just slavery themed ones.

Not sure what The Dom's Dungeon contains that would make anyone consider it a "Total Power Exchange". I'd call it a pretty bedroom oriented "Mild Power Exchange".

As She's Told, Comfort Food, and Club Mephisto are "Total Power Exchange" relationships. There are already lots of lists for regular Dom/sub stories, not sure why the whole top of this list is mostly non-TPE Dom/Sub Cherise Sinclair novels. Not that I don't go for that too, but when I wanna read a TPE, I want to read a TPE, you know?

Sigh, yes, I agree with you. Since these lists are open for anyone to add, if we don't monitor it, we find people adding things which are not appropriate. I'll have one of our moderators take a look at this one to clean it up. Thanks for bringing it up!

Mel, have you read the stories by Annabel Joseph? She wrote several books in a series where it is 24/7 and it is consensual. Candace Blevins has several too.

BDSM implies the consent of the slave. If this isn't consensual, this is NOT BDSM. This is rape, abuse, mistreatment and so forth. Even though there is erotica in it, this is NOT BDSM.

Uncle Tom's cabin is about REAL SLAVERY, not about BDSM!!!

There are a few books in this list that shouldn't be there because it's about kidnapping and abuse.

Such books and such ideas put confusion in the mind of outsiders who want to know more about BDSM.

If you're classified as property, you're a real slave, like Uncle Tom's cabin, like in Roots. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING FUN IN IT, nothing BDSM in it!!!
